Instead of trying to change EVERY little thing in this league Gordon, why don't you start your own "high stakes league"? trying to change the subject when your "ammo" runs out? since your last point made no sense, can you please specify why increasing your roster size to 19 or 20 for week 13 on is a bad idea? thanks.

What's the weather like in Richmond. My in-laws are visiting and we'll have over a foot of snow on the ground tomorrow morning. Forecast low for Christmas day.....-10!

Welcome to Indiana. :D

RC Sunday night it snowed less than an inch (of course some schools were closed :D ).

Monday, the HIGH was about 25.

Today (Thursday), the high is supposed to be in the 60's.

X-Mas day forecast LOW is 15

Welcome to Richmond! :D (where the temperature fluctuates ALL the time).

[/QUOTE]So if everyone doesn't agree with your ideas, THEY are wrong. Sounds as if someone is bitter because MOST of your ideas have already been shot down by Greg based on his e-mail.

Increasing the roster IS not a good idea after Week 13 because of the following reasons;

1) Why? Greg and Tom aren't going to change rules "just to do it!", so it better be something that is BLATANTLY advantageous to the league! This clearly is not.

2) So let me get this straight, you play 12 weeks with 18, and then you want to increase rosters to 20. It's kind of like playing volleyball "best out of 5" all year, and then going to "best out of 3" for the playoffs (or vice-versa). It changes the strategy that has been done all season long and INCREASES the luck factor!

3) If everyone here is "worth their salt", then they don't need these "extra" players to get them where they need to go. You know the saying "dance with who brung ya"? Well that applies here!

I'm sure that isn't good enough for you Gordon, so lets just let Greg and Tom decide.

BOTTOM LINE... You are trying to "tinker" with anything and everything that you can because you have nothing else to do (or so it seems). Some of your ideas like the 3 week playoff I like, but many of you other ideas are just "nitpicking", and I can assure you that with all the time Greg and Tom put into making the NFFC a success in it's first year, they are not going to "overhaul" and change 4 or 5 rules just to "do it". The system is in place, and for the most part (minus prize money and how you get it) everything went smoothly, and there aren't too many people bitching besides you.

BOTTOM LINE 2....

If you think there are so many changes that need done, GO PLAY SOMEWHERE ELSE! (As I said before, "start your OWN league"). That certainly can't be a hard concept to understand, is it?

For the record, I think this idea makes sense since injuries do occur during this three week playoff period. If we allowed teams to just add one roster spot with the Week 13 FAAB period, I don't really see a negative at all. That one extra player could make a difference in the playoffs due to injuries or it could do nothing at all. But it certainly would have no effect on the regular season outcome and it probably wouldn't factor much in the playoffs. But it's a good idea.

I'm not saying we will institute it for 2005, but it's an idea I should have thought of. Once this season is over, we'll poll all of our 2004 members about several of these ideas and make the right decisions together. But this is something that could be implemented easily and actually makes sense to me.
