MVP Sportsbook To Sponsor Welcome Receptions

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Jun 08, 2004 2:44 am

We have good news for all National Fantasy Football Championship participants to report, as our baseball folks will tell you. MVP Sportsbook.com has agreed to sponsor the Welcome Receptions in all three cities, giving away free drinks and "gifts" to every manager and co-manager. For baseball, MVP Sportsbook provided drinks for the participants and provided Ping polo shirts for everyone, caps, membership cards and food in all three cities. We'll have final details for football soon, but we expect the same kind of treatment for our participants.

Remember that we are hosting a Welcome Reception on Friday night, Sept. 3rd at the Flamingo in Las Vegas. Even though the Auction League will be held at the same time, we'll make sure those participants get their fair share of the drink tickets, food and goodies. We may have a special guest speaker in Las Vegas as well (we had Marty Barrett for baseball) and will have an experts Q&A panel too. Should be good fun and it will give you a chance to see exactly where you'll be sitting at the draft table the next day and meet some of your league participants.

We found out with baseball that it was tougher for people in New York and Chicago to get to the Welcome Receptions on Friday night, especially in Manhattan. So we are having morning Welcome Receptions in those cities on Saturday, Sept. 4th with breakfast goodies and guest speakers. More details on those coming soon. But the drafts start at 1 p.m. in New York and noon in Chicago, which is after cocktail hour, so we'll still have drink tickets for everyone. ;) Plus we'll keep the fun going after each draft in all three cities and allow everyone time to move around and check out all the other draft boards.

Thanks again to MVP Sportsbook.com for sponsoring the Welcome Receptions, which is sure to get our weekend of fun going in the right direction.

Shodan, we're happy to have you. Your reputation precedes you, which is a good thing. We are accumulating some SERIOUS fantasy football players and this will be a great competition. The fact we also have a lot of goodies waiting for everyone won't hurt any either, but the competition will take precedence. Thanks for trusting in us and we're glad to have you.

I'm going to post this somewhere else as a funny, but I want you to know that I have yet to delete a post in the National Fantasy Baseball Championship or the NFFC. Now you may force me to break my record, but so far I'm oh-for-eight months!!! Welcome aboard and please have some fun with these Message Boards. That's what they're here for and I'll enjoy the posts as much as anyone else.

Dyv, that's the spirit. I just talked with Mike and Zoe today and they are still figuring out what to all put in the goodie bags, but as you know from our baseball event it was enough to barely fit in a suitcase. Both Mike and Zoe will be in Las Vegas to mingle with the participants and get to meet everyone and Zoe said they're almost certain the Ping polo shirts are coming along. Can't beat that $45 gift. Should be fun again.
