GREAT IDEA Greg!
Good opportunity for those who drafted on Friday to wind down and enjoy some food and beverages and talk about the completed or upcoming drafts and be joined by some getting in on Friday and getting ready for Saturday.
One NOTE about a "friendly" poker game - there can be NO CASH on the tables or exchanged - certainly we can have a tournament and Greg can award some nice Fanball prizes.....but it is Nevada and there ARE gaming commission rules to be followed....but those who want to play can still have a great time.
KDS for spots at the table? Correct. Zaleski or someone else can write down the names of folks who are playing for money and bring our own chips, but that's the extent of it and the Flamingo is being very nice to allow us our own ballroom to do this. I'm still working on all of this, but it could be great fun. [/QUOTE]I have a chip set. We don't have to show anyone any green in that room. Signups and payouts in the Sportsbook!!!
It's a damn shame there is no FI$HER party this year. Both parties were awesome.
But this does allow us to not rush to meet certain previous party deadlines on the poker event.
Last year, we had a dozen play and I had to turn several away. With more room, let's open it up and get as many as possible. I see twenty easy and hope to get up to 30.
30@$200 = 6 k in prizes...
Pay six spots..
$2000
$1200
$1000
$800
$600
$400
20 would pay 4 spots
$1800
$1100
$700
$400

This is what makes these events awesome... check this out..
I've just finished checking out of the Rio and had to kill four hours before a tournament at the Venetian. Luggage and laptop stored at bell desk.
So I head to the sports book and remember that I forgot to input my NFBC moves for Sunday night deadline. I try to enter these on CrackBerry and can not.
So I then call my wife to enter them on her home PC and while I'm telling her all the players and bid amounts, Duke is sitting right in front of me !!!!!
He waits for me to finish and then we kill the last three hours in no time at all!!

My poker skills are at level with my fantasy baseball skills. Since I am fighting to stay out of last place (Kudos to those guys doing well. IMHO it is a lot easier to play football. Baseball is a six month marathon), I am sure that my contribution will be appreciated. Count me in.

Via posts, PM and e-mail, we're already up to 11.
I can see 30-40 right now as most of the 11 did not play last year.
Please respond if you are going to play right here or send me a PM. I need your real name also please, not just your MB handle.
I've run and played in tournaments up to 100 players before. Right before we start, we will have a random draw for seating. After each table is set, I'll ask someone to be a "captain" at their table to let me know when a player is eliminated.
Each level will be 15 minutes long. I'll post structure when we get close to a final number of players. I'm assuming 8pm start right now and trying to finish around 11pm.
I'll take anyone right up to the end, but it will really help me set this up if you sign up asap.
Also, it would be great if anyone not wanting to play volunteers to be a dealer, and if we don't get any of these, then I'd like to see players eliminated deal until the next person is eliminated. Then that person deals for awhile and so on.
I'll be hanging out all Wed-Fri. Get me your green before we walk into the room so we don't get into any trouble. I will not touch green in that room.
Greg has promised endless Coronas
