Portis is at 7 right now. What has changed during the off-season and pre-season, that leads you to believe that Portis is worthy of the 7th pick overall ?

Since probability resets itself every time, is there anything that can assure me that after joining 3 events last year, and 5 events this year, that I'll ever get a top 6 pick? So far 9 is the earliest I've seen.

[/QUOTE]1. Their offensive line is significantly improved.

2. Their QB play should be improved -- perhaps significantly so (that's a reflection on how pathetic Brunell was not so much a reflection on how good Ramsey could be).

3. Gibbs has to utilize Portis better. He just has to if he has any brains at all. And so far the indications are that will be the case.

Keep in mind, however, that I don't think there is a lot of separation after the Top 5 RBs. I think a strong argument could be made to move a number of the RBs ranked between 6-15 up or down. So maybe Tiki moves into the Top 10 or maybe Kevin Jones or maybe Dom Davis moves up higher or Rudi Johnson. A number of those RBs look an awful lot alike when it comes to projected performance in my opinion.

Tom - In your opinion, is Edge a clear cut choice over McGahee at 4 or do you see it as "close"?

Working against The Edge, the pass happy Colts seem to throw the darn ball even at the 1 yard line. But, Edge is playing for a contract.... Working against McGahee, Buffalo has a rookie qb which may impact his ability to run. But, that's exactly what they will want him to do...

So, is it close, or is Edge a clear cut number 4?

I think Edge is the clear choice above McGahee due to his involvement in the passing game. McGahee will see some passes but not to the extent that James will. The concern with Edge as you state is the TD potential, but his yardage should be terrific once again.
