Before Week 9 I had $17 left in the Gekko Satellite and needed a QB for Week 10 to replace Plummer.

Garrard was announced as the replacement for Leftwich but was on a bye week so I figured I could get him cheap. I bid $3 of my precious FAAB just in case somebody else had the same idea and bid $1 or $2. I figured I would be outbid if I waited for Week 10, before his start.

Yes Nag, it IS possible to plan ahead.

P.S. I won that game by 13 and Garrard scored 26.

Fine! I told myself I wouldn't do this, but I'll explain my thought process as best as I can.
My biggest concern the entire year was my QB position because of McNair. I had $4 bucks left going into the previous Friday. I knew I would need 2 of them for a TE and D bye week replacement in week 10. That left me with 2 transactions for the ENTIRE year. I chose to pickup J.White last Friday to guarantee myself a starting RB, having Pittman. That left ONE BUCK. I considered picking up Volek last week but all the reports I was reading said McNair is healing and would resume practice last Wednesday. I thought - if he practices as they predict, great, I'll have my starter and I'll still have a buck left for an emergency transaction. If not, I'll bid that $1 on one of the "scrub" QBs hanging on the WW. Now...this is where it gets tricky. If you agree with the Clown, and want to say you could've also saw the infamous "blocks" coming - if you can honestly say you could've forseen a team picking up ALL 4-5 available QBs on the waiver wire, well then you also think I made a mistake. Otherwise, I made the best choice I could make, given my situation. What happened this past Friday during the bidding process was beyond my control.

Okay Nag, I understand as I've been short in FAAB in both the Main Event and the Satellite. You had to make some tough decisions but you made them without considering the "gaming" aspects. That may have indeed been a surprise but, thanks to you, we will all include that factor as we make our "end game" moves.

So thanks for the wake up call.

Your loss, literally and figuratively, is our gain. You, however, don't have a complaint.

Nag

Let it go man. This is the reality of the MB. Nobody really cares about anyone elses team. Why should we? If I want to win it all then I must want 223 other teams to lose. If you can gain an advantage on anyone (within the rules) you'd be crazy not to. Hey, if this happened to another team you were chasing and gained you a game in the standings, what are the chances you would've titled this thread - Tee Hee Hee?

You posed the first post as a discussion item.

It's actually been others than got truly offended by the situation (like renman). Again, thanks for the heads up.

That's the difference between winners and runner ups. Anyone would be stupid not to draft a player of that type of production. BTW- you aer the one talking about sportsmanship and morality and cmparing chopblocks to fantasy football. That's all I was replying to.

Nag, sometimes the best offense is a good defense. Stop you from making the plays (or in this case, WW moves). You were outmanuevered, outcoached and every other out something
