Interesting. I kind of feel the same way about what happen to me here - something ALLOWED yet should NOT be done. [/QUOTE]Nag, can you please explain why this should not be done? To feel sorry for you? to give you a break for team mismanagement? Just to be a nice guy?

Classless act or good strategy??
How many mulligans do we get in fantasy football?
Classless act or good strategy??
its amazing how many people get hostile here.. turn this into a silly pis*ing contest message baord argument and say things like "haha, you managed your team bad, we wont feel sorry for you, we play to win no matter what within the rules blah blah blah"
and completely miss the point of the thread...lol
-i do not think anyone was asking for sympathy
-i think someone was asking if this is good for a fantasy league or not.
-me bringing up OTHER "classless" moves in sport that are within the rules, but considered wrong or against the spirit of the game was a PERFECT example of comparison.
-if other leagues we have all played in HAVE RULES AGAINST THIS it thus becomes a FACT that this issue is considered something to be addressed...
why so many owners are here up in arms screaming things like "how many mulligans do we get?" or "we wont feel sorry for you" when not one person asked for a mulligan, or for sympathy shows why things often get silly on message boards...lol

What was Nag's intention? To say that he is a true sportsman, and his opponent is a scumbag? To propose a rule change that says if you screw up, you should be able to avoid the consequences? Sorry, I just don't get it.

renman, we are repondng to the posts. When someone compares chop-blocking (which is only legal in certian circumstances) that can cause someone to lose thier season and possibly thier career to fantasy sports. It's kind of a joke. Nag, was looking for justification for his anger, yet, most people know that he was played.
-i do not think anyone was asking for sympathy
*** yes he is.... that is why he posted
-i think someone was asking if this is good for a fantasy league or not.
*** it is good, keeps you on your toes and makes you involved in the league. makes you plan weeks ahead of time. Shows that owners won't give up
-me bringing up OTHER "classless" moves in sport that are within the rules, but considered wrong or against the spirit of the game was a PERFECT example of comparison.
***See the paragraph above, ending a career is different than winning in fantasy football.
-if other leagues we have all played in HAVE RULES AGAINST THIS it thus becomes a FACT that this issue is considered something to be addressed...
***I have never played in a league that has rules agianst this. I have been playing since 1988 and I average about 100+ teams and 10+ different styles a year.
KofQ said it best. There is no point and when comments that are made that are just ridiculous, you'll be called out on them. You admitted that you would not hve picked up Rudi Johnson cause you didn't need him... nough said.

There is a very clear point of Nag's post(s)... from the title to his first post to now.
He wants to whine and play the victim. "I was caught in a complex transaction web nobody could have accounted for... by a ruthless owner" is his basic premise.
I don't believe ANY of it:
1. He spent his cash and left himself with $3 = FACT
2. He failed to plan ahead when he could have gotten his players for $1 = FACT
3. He chose to handcuff Pittman (totally healthy) instead of McNair (very broken) = FACT
4. Alstott is back soon, so Jamel White may not even BE the backup - FAC
Sure, it's amazing that the other owner was able to block you with 4 moves but the situation was created by poor planning in the first place. Nag feels he did everything within his power and he feels like a victim.
Play on, Nag, it's your right to ruin your team... I just have no sympathy for your stupid move(s) as you certainly have no sympathy for mine.
Ren: I can agree to disagree with you... and Nag as well. I have no problem with you guys expressing different opinions. But I also don't want this message board full of ridiculous pity parties because someone doesn't understand advanced fantasy football strategy.
This is beyond a p-party, this goes to the very core of fantasy games... brilliant management of players you can't control.... a roster manipulation that was done like a chess match. It is THE ONE THING we as fantasy GM's can do for our teams during the season. You play the match-ups, you research the health and history, you MANIPULATE your roster to put you in the best position to win. THAT is this game, not some holistic hippy viewpoint of sports "as it is supposed to be" and good sportsmanship and Mom's bring juice and cookies for our postgame snack. Screw that! I can't stand my daughter playing t-ball and nobody makes an out and they all score every inning including the last batter always getting a grand slam! Ridiculous that we call this 'sporting.'
You play to win. And if you lose? You walk away like a man (or woman) and be thankful for the chance to compete and admire the victor's skill and luck. Lose and win graciously
Checkmate... brilliant gambit.
Admire it, it was a beautiful thing in fantasy football strategy and should be applauded and recognized not b*tched about and seeking rule changes.
I'll stop ranting one of these days,
Dyv
