14 Team Leagues vs. 12 Team Leagues
Like UYT, I think the 12 team idea was what people came up with as an accomodation for playoffs but to me, I would prefer my season to end in Week 16 rather than Week 14 or 15 like most 12 team league do. With a 17-week season, let's go with 18 teams, 18 player roster in a strictly H2H league, best record wins, to see what happens. But to answer your inquiry here, Greg, 14 is just right.

Quality over Quantity.
Raise the GP to $200k and they will come over in droves. They need this reason to switch.
Owners that want to prove they are the best want to play in leagues that are harder than 12-team all-star leagues.
I haven't done a 12-teamer in several years until yesterday. The decision process was 20x easier.

From what I read, in regards to the first fantasy football league, it was a 8 teams. As the interest grew and it spread nationwide, the amount of teams in each league eventually grew to the 12 team format that is so prevalent today. As more and more teams join the NFFC, I am sure the 14 teamers will become more prevalent. I sure hope so.

Greg....love the 14 team format......would be fun to go with even more teams.like you said you can offer any satellite leagues anyone wants. My opinion is the main event is great with 14 or more teams....As everyone has said yes BBDS is the fair way to go besides the auction.....It's just not fair to get LJ,plus two other studs. The top three picks this year are huge and makes it alot easyer for them guys. Also being able to win both prizes in the main event would be great, the h2h and total points.....It sucks giving money away to some guy that doesn't deserve it....Also Think total points should go ahead of h2h...yes h2h is fun but the skills are in total points.
thanks

Johnny Deleted a bunch of messages, so go ahead and send over GG roster. Oh, wait, I was already in that league, so I saw all of the mistakes.

That's the fall back if something bigger doesn't transpire at a sports bar ... but you are in for sure either way (as I speak for Darryl).

14 Team Leagues vs. 12 Team Leagues
Consider this thought for a second.
While it seems to be the popular belief to think that 12 team leagues are "easier" that 14 teamers, I think this is an illogical conclusion. To make a NFL analogy, its like suggesting that it became easier for teams to win games (or championships) when the NFL added expansion teams because the player talent become dilluted. It did not become easier for anyone. The level of "ease" of "difficulty" was and remains constant for ALL teams.
Same thing applies in the 12 vs 14 argument. It may seem "easier" to draft in a 12 teamer vs 14, or it may seem "easier" to find talent in a 12 teamer vs 14 but in reality, all 12 owners have it just as easy and all 14 owners have it just as difficult in their respective leagues.
You can argue that the experience playing in 14 teamers gives you an edge when going back to 12, and this may (or may not) be true, but all things being equal, and when all owners have similar experience and skill, their ability to win in 12 teamers is NO EASIER than their ability to win in 14.
That is my position. Discuss.
