Greg....any comments on publicizing the GekkoIII?
Love to hear your thoughts! Yeah, I have no problem publicizing the BBDS process and letting folks know how that works. If I had a magazine going out even later I'd put the BBDS results from all of these satellite leagues in print, but unfortunately we're pretty far along in this last one and sweating to get everything in already. But I may have some online possibilities to spread the word around and get those values published in several locations. Stay tuned.
As all of you guys and gals know, I HATE picking the draft slots and wish everyone could have the spot they want. BBDS would be ideal for Tom and I in the NFFC as our customers couldn't complain about us giving them a bum draft spot. But it's a tough concept to sell to newbies right now and it's important to get the word out first and have a track record of how it works. I agree that it could be a positive for the NFFC and in time it could work for us. But right now as we're already battling to fill all 350 spots with the unique 14-team league concept, adding one more new wrinkle doesn't make good business sense.
Jules, it looks like Billy Waz is starting a BBDS Satellite League right now and has nine owners for that July 16th $100 league. Get your name on there fast. I'll gladly offer other BBDS leagues if anyone would like more and we'll publicize all the results wherever I can this year and then do a full-blown story on the process next year in Fantasy Sports Magazine. No problem there.
All is good. Everyone be safe this holiday weekend and remember, Draft Day is just TWO months away.

My next thought (and it is only a thought right now, I am not committed to the idea yet) is something like this in the Kentucky Derby Style Leagues. Draft Choice below stands for the choice you were given and not the Draft Position you selected:
Draft Choice FAB $$
1 350
2 400
3 450
4 500
5 550
6 600
7 650
8 700
9 750
10 800
11 850
12 900
13 950
14 1000
Just a thought. But it adds something to even the slate a bit.

I know you are busy and might have missed my previous post (printed above for your convenience). What do you think about this idea; the more I think about it the more I believe in its merit.
Thanks Photon

why is this an advantage over BBDS? let the market decide. don't set draft slot pricing.

Just like the KD ... since the BBDS is not an option this year ... he is looking to improve what we have. Better that 1000 to everyone.

Thanks Photon [/QUOTE]The idea has merit, but it involves another level of uniqueness that BBDS would to new members. Plus each year I think we'd have to re-evaluate the value of each pick and rate accordingly. I'm not against it, but I think the next step after KDS is BBDS, but that is likely a long ways off.
KDS was discussed heavily in baseball about the pros and cons beforehand and honestly it worked well for everyone. Football is different in that the top three picks are greatly desired, but at least KDS does give you some input in your draft spot.
I'm surprised that everyone who is pushing BBDS isn't entered in the auction leagues. THAT'S the ideal BBDS league.
