[/QUOTE]That's what I have said all along. To me that's what will catch my eye and I'm sure others too. Adding an extra 600-1000 to league prizes will keep Frank happy , but I don't think it will really appeal to new players.

The grand prize and how deep 2nd-5th is what will get someone's attention.
Winning isn't everything, but the will to win is.

you can rip me. im a big boy. Frank, I believe you are correct. Even at $1,500, with a comparatively low events fee, the NFFC represents a "good deal" in the HSFF marketplace.

I will wait for Greg to post his payout scenarios before making further comment. Last time "the numbers guy" performed his magic, I left $5,000 in prize money on the table somewhere. The Iola House Mafia has a contract out on me for that little stunt.

I think first and foremost you should just keep it the way it is for one more year because you're going to have two weekends to draft and no lock out this year. My guess is you'll hit the targeted 322 number but I could be wrong. If you don't hit it this year then change something up. A for sure way to get more people is to crank out classic drafts when the online drafts start! I know, I'm the devil for suggesting we draft a month or two early... but I would sign up for them! And I bet others would too...

I personally play in multiple leagues and I can say if the grand prize drops for a $600/300/150 league increase I'll have to reevaluate which leagues are best for me. I don't think dropping the grand prize for that little increase is worth it, just my opinion though. You'd probably have to increase league prizes more and most of it to first place for me to consider it.

And can we please for the love of God stop dropping the 2nd through (which ever place is the last place) grand prizes? I feel like I've been in this boat alone for so long, good to see some others want those to increase (or at least stay the same)! I know for sure in 2010 4th and 5th place in the online championship paid out 3k and 2k. This past year they paid out less but eventually we're bumped back to those levels... and we had a lot more players. Getting 5th overall out of 1000 people is really freaking impressive!!! (Can we keep the combined standings the same too?)

Lastly, I couldn't agree more with Wayne... can we please just bump Classic up to 20 roster spots too? Few injuries hit, bye weeks come and I'm cutting players I don't want to cut. That isn't fun!

Okay, let me show you two options for the Classic under a new price point and give me your feedback. These are based on 322 teams again because going down to 280 can't be done without reducing the overall prizes by at least $25,000. We have taken this hit each year in the Classic and I'll have to do my best to convince everyone that this year we can sell it out at 322 teams.

So if we increase the Classic entry fee to $1,500, it generates about $25,000 in available prize funds if we sell out. That's among 23 leagues. So by keeping the grand prize at $100,000 and the overall prizes the same, you could make league prizes:

1st - $6,000
2nd - $2,500
3rd - $1,250

Overall Prizes
1st - $100,000
2nd - $15,000
3rd - $7,500
4th - $2,500
5th - $2,500
6th - $1,500
7th - $1,500
8th - $1,500
Consolation Round
1st - $2,500
2nd - $1,500
3rd - $1,500
4th - $1,500

Total Points regular season champ = $1,500

Combined Prizes with the Online Championship of $8,400

League prizes still aren't as strong as I'd like, but with three teams from each league making the Championship Round it does give a lot of teams a fighting chance to win $100,000. And if we grow above 322 teams, I'll definitely grow the league prizes first.

First place is enhanced within the league and now $3,500 would be on the line in a league playoff if two teams split h2h and total points. That's one area that could be addressed if we wanted to, maybe say if you don't win both h2h and total points after Week 13 for $6,000, then each team wins $3,000 and the remaining $2,500 is up for grabs. But that can be discussed later.

The $100,000 carrot and a slightly league prize is the goal here, obviously.

Some people addressed making the grand prize $75,000 and spreading the wealth among other top overall finishers. If you did that, it could look like this:

Overall Prizes
1st - $75,000
2nd - $25,000
3rd - $12,500
4th - $5,000
5th - $3,500
6th - $2,500
7th - $2,500
8th - $2,500
9th - $1,500
10th - $1,500

Thoughts?

Okay, here's one other plan, based on $1,500 entry fee for the Classic and reducing the grand prize to $75,000 to again enhance first and second place league prizes. So I took $25,000 from the 1st place overall and distributed it among first, second and third in the league:

1st - $6,500
2nd - $3,000
3rd - $1,300

Overall Prizes
1st - $75,000
2nd - $15,000
3rd - $7,500
4th - $2,500
5th - $2,500
6th - $1,500
7th - $1,500
8th - $1,500
Consolation Round
1st - $2,500
2nd - $1,500
3rd - $1,500
4th - $1,500

Total Points regular season champ = $1,500

Combined Prizes with the Online Championship of $8,400
