With Regard To Draft Position & Performance

Here's some more info for you guys to chew on. We have two KP Expert Leagues going on this season. Both are 12-team leagues.

In the KP1 league, the team with the best record (yours truly at 8-0

) picked 8th. The team that picked first is 6th overall with a 4-4 record. The team that picked 12th is 3-5, but the team that picked 11th is 5-3. Here's a breakdown of each team's record listed in order of draft position:

1. 4-4
2. 6-2
3. 6-2
4. 0-8
5. 4-4
6. 2-6
7. 3-5
8. 8-0
9. 5-3
10. 2-6
11. 5-3
12. 3-5

In the KP2 league, the team that had the first pick (our own Dyv who was teamed up with Meatloaf) has a 5-3 record. The team that picked last, however, is 5-2-1. Here's a breakdown of that league:

1. 5-3
2. 5-3
3. 5-3
4. 3-5
5. 6-2
6. 5-3
7. 3-5
8. 3-4-1
9. 3-5
10. 1-7
11. 3-5
12. 5-2-1

In KP2, the teams with the best records typically picked higher although having the last pick hasn't stopped John Hansen's team from posting a strong record so far. But in KP1, we have good records all over the map with no indication that draft position has made a significant impact on a team's record.

records aren't really an effective measure. total pts is a better. i'm really interested in your comments on what i posted in the "Draft Slots - Week 8" thread. care to share?

Good point about records vs. points (I hate head-to-head for that very reason). Let me break down the leagues by total points.

I should clarify to say I dislike exclusive head-to-head leagues, but that's just personal preference. The nice thing about the NFFC is that we place a high priority on total points and obviously the overall champion is the one with the most points in the playoff run. I believe that is a great way to truly reward the best team in our event.
