I don't know about others but I think you bring some of this on yourself. We're not going to convince everyone or our views and we don't win any extra cash for winning message board debates. So probably no need to keep making the same points ("for the 4th time...").

Every component of this game has both some skill and some luck. For example, you say that FAAB is skill. Why? Do you hit on every player you acquire? If not, then is it a black mark against your skill when you don't? Personally, I think just having an FAAB available can be considered "lucky", as in "we're sure lucky we can replace this bum or injured player" instead of having to just continue using drafted players. Speaking of which, I think you may be overgeneralizing when you suggest that all those late-round picks are only useful when we get lucky and have injuries in front of them. To cite an example that's close to your own heart, LT's ADP was around round 8 or 9. And he's doing great despite a healthy Shonn Geeene. Skill or luck? .

This is a pretty dumb debate IMO. If you think DCs are so lucky then don't join them. But trying to win a message board debate over it might just leave a bit of a bad impression on people out here and probably doesn't help you in other discussions.

My 2 cents.

I have 2 comments.

1. Mike a good friend and there isn't a single thing he said, did, or typed that I took as a chastisement or anything else. We had a great conversation about fantasy football and I thought he made some great points. That's all. Anything is else is misguided conjecture.

2. Nobody EVER wins internet message board debates.

Seriously, Renman

This is an example of you following someone around the message board and posting your same sorry argument right behind them (me). You have already posted this same basic post behind my post before.

You already proved your ignorance to me in this matter ... I don't need a refresher course ... trust me on this. I'm not saying your stupid ... you just missed the boat on this one ... I GOT IT! Oh boy, here we go.....

Expecting a Renman response and repeats of the same point over and over and over in 3....2....1....
LOL ... Renman and me are good (I think)

He claims he doesn't follow people around the board to argue the same points ... I caught him doing just that. And I pointed it out.

Renman got caught!

He thinks I'm ignorant about the very same subject. I said he's not stupid (I agree with him more often than not). He should not be offended by this post.
You can't say I didn't try to warn you.

I learned in my one and only ill-advised encounter that Renman is 100% right on every single point.

My 2 cents. Sandman,

If making fair points that frustrate a few guys who wont engage in friendly and reasonable discussion and instead get hostile is bringing something on myself, than I am guilty as charged. The same point needs to be made 4 times when it gets ignored 4 times and instead a reply is given that makes it obvious the point was ignored.

Do you think drafting is a skill? If you do, than you think faab is a skill. I think faab is as much a skill as drafting is. It is about identifying players who are going to produce. Everyone misses out on guys from time to time in the bidding. That is what makes it fun. I don't get your LT point. I do find it funny that other people harp on or continue to bring up the LT discussion way more than me, yet the illusion is that I drive the LT talk...lol For some reason it seems to drive people nuts that I was a billion percent right about LT when 95% of the industry was going the other way.

I agree with you, this is a mind numbing dumb debate. I currently don't play DC leagues. This is a debate started by someone else. This is a debate fueled by someone else. I wonder when you are going to direct your complaints toward the guy who created the debate.

I care less about the impression left out here. I am fully aware of how cliques have taken over this forum and in some ways maybe even the NFFC. I am into football discussion. If/when someone is going to personally attack (the evidence is here for anyone to read) me for having an opinion, and then is going to hide under their desk when I challenge them to provide counter opinions or outline how/why I am so wrong. They are the problem, not me.

Hopefully this silly exchange can cease. As a matter of fact, I am absolutely not posting in this thread again unless a clear, reasonable, fair, friendly, FOOTBALL SPECIFIC point is made that interests me. Because of that, it will likely fade away.

Wayne You are 100% right about this, Wayne.

The boards have been a real turn off for me this year.

It just seems like it has turned into a "let's repeat ourselves a THOUSAND times" to try and get a point across that NO ONE ELSE cares about (injuries, "I told you so posts", etc.) Like Wayne said.... "No one EVER wins internet message board debates".

Honestly though, that is what the people who are ALWAYS debating want.

And this is from someone who was involved in this sort of nonsense for YEARS.....so it takes one to know one! ;)

Maybe it's just that I am a bit older and am tired of it all, maybe I am too busy with work/family for the boards.....but something just isn't right on these boards this season, IMO. :(

WWAAD?

(What Would Admiral Ackbar Do?)

So far, it's worked amazingly well.

Best of luck to everyone in Weeks 7 through 16!

Man, am I late to this party?! :D That's a good thing.

Renman, do you play many DC-type leagues? Pretty obvious to me that you don't. If you think all a DC is about is Scouting and drafting, you are sadly mistaken.

I'll go on record and say it's much easier to manage through injuries in a traditional. Advantage DCs.

Sit/start decisions? 95% of the time it's a no-brainer. Whereas DCs (of you're into looking this deeply) you are looking to match potential strengths in scoring from your later round players with the potential scoring weaknesses of your early round selections. Advantage DCs

Drafting to account for BYE weeks (if you're into that) is much more a challenge in the DC format. Advantage DCs.

I'll save the rest of my argument to myself and those that play and excel at the DC format.

Pretty silly to dismiss opposing viewpoints. Also, have you ever considered that Mike/Wayne/Moyer/and several other strong DC players don't want to have to come on here and educate you on what leads to their success?

Only 2 skills required to play in DCs, yes. Many more skills required to EXCEL in DCs, yes!

Back to my corner.

Reinman:Yeah.

Jerry:So you were a billion % sure?"

Reinman:Yeah. I'm an excellent debater.
