Stafford

I'd typically include Rivers but not right now given his current struggles. There are other QBs like Roethlisberger, Newton, Schaub and even Eli who I would definitely consider depending on the matchup over Tebow. But the QBs above are the only ones who would permanently keep Tebow on my bench if I had them. I am looking at your list and can't agree.

romo has three games over 25 and three under so forget him.

stafford's last four games have been 22, 22, 27 and 15, so drop him off the list.

but you have to add cam newton with only two games less then 30 and one of those was in a monsoon rain storm.

so my list would be:

rodgers (mvp)
cam newton
brady
brees
vick

you only have 5 players that will out score tebow on a consistant basis.

but tebow could easily outscore any or all of these on a weekly basis.

mark my words: the 100,000 champion will have either newton, rodgers or tebow.

crazy year for qbs
its nice to be the master

He is 4 for 4 in his 4 starts so far, so maybe you want to reconsider that.

I noted my concern with Stafford. I'd still start him over Tebow right now due to the Megatron factor but I agree that his play of late is concerning. But I'd give him one more week over Tebow due entirely to Megatron.

As far as Romo, I would start him over Tebow every week. He's only been under 20 points once and three times he's topped 28. Even against the Rams, where the Cowboys didn't really need to throw he still put up a little more than 20 points. I think Romo's safe, he's a stud and the Cowboys have a wealth of talent in the passing game. He would start over Tebow every week if I had them both.

Agree about how good Newton has been. When I Tweeted my list of QBs on Sunday who I would start over Tebow he was on it. But of all the QBs I listed, I felt like Cam was the one guy Tebow could catch from a fantasy perspective.

I don't see Tebow cracking the Top 5 of QB production going forward but as someone who owns him in a couple of leagues (including the one league I really care about), I'd love to be wrong about that.

i find it wierd that almost every announcer/nfl guy thinks tebow blows. they think the game he just played was smoke and mirrors and maybe it was but give the guy credit for that game and comeback.

i just find it odd how many people are going out of their way to say tebow is no good. you don't hear nearly the same things about the other rookie qb's. tebow wins a game and they come out of the woodworks to say fluke. cam wins his first game and they praise the guy like he is the next coming.

to be honest i think some of the criticism is coming from people that don't like his hollier then thou attitude and don't like the whole God stuff he is spewing daily.

i know i found myself rooting for tebow sunday and it didn't have anything to do with me having him in my home league.

He didn't just look bad like all rookie QBs often do; he looked like he had no clue whatsoever how to play the position.

I think that's the thing that people are grappling with. How can someone who looked so amazingly awful for nearly the entire game suddenly flip on a switch and look really good and start making plays that lead a team to victory? I covered the NFL for nine years as a beat writer and I've been watching the game my entire life and I honestly don't recall a player anything like this. From an NFL perspective, it's impossible to get a good read on him right now considering how many weaknesses he has but still somehow finds a way to make plays and energize his team.

From a fantasy perspective, it's still a small sample size but so far whenever he's gotten meaningful action he's delivered elite production. I think he's easier to figure out from a fantasy perspective right now which is what I wrote about him two weeks ago. You're pretty much starting him unless you have a stud QB considering how productive he's been. What's difficult to assess presently is his NFL future. I'll admit I don't have the slightest clue about that and the game against the Dolphins only served to muddy the waters further.
right now i am more conerned about real life qb then fantasy qb.

if you watch that game last night gabbert looked like garbage....granted he was going up aginst balt's def. but he does have one of the best rb's in the league to hand the ball off to as well as a pro-bowl te and some decent wr's. what does tebow have? wr's stink....rb's stink.....te stinks.

espn has front page articles saying how much twbow stinks....there isn't front page articles about other young qb's. just saying they seem to be going out of their way to criticize the guy.

i guess only time will tell who is right

I think more people are interested in Tebow than Gabbert or any of the other rookie QBs other than Newton. I think it's primarily for the reasons I spoke of. That said, it's not like ESPN isn't above generating controversy in order to try and create a "news" story they can then cover.

2nd video on espn.com right now is a guy saying: "Some called Denver's Tim Tebow-led comeback in Miami a miracle. Gregg Easterbrook finds such depictions disturbing. "

and if you read the article he mentions God a few times......hmmmmmmm...why is he doing that?
You're right Andy. And I'll say it again. There's a real obvious reason to me and that is the fact that he is such a moral, upstanding Christian kid of who does not hide his faith. The haters hate because it's easier tearing him down rather than looking in the mirror at their own unhappy lives and questioning their own lifestyles. They want so much for him to fail and to find something that contradicts his beliefs.

Andy - Regarding the "holier than thou attitude" comment you made, I have never once seen Tebow act like he is better than someone else. The fact that he expresses his faith is not equal to an "I'm holier than you" attitude. He is humble in nature, but some people just can't handle the fact that he expresses his beliefs.

After the game, I saw at least three veteran players go up to him with genuine affection. Dawkins was one of them. That speaks volumes to me about what his teammates think of him.
