The 14-Team Ultimate League Is Now Full

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Jun 01, 2010 3:21 am

Okay, it's time to start a countdown for the 14-team NFFC Ultimate League that will be held on Sunday, Sept. 5th at 1 pm ET/10 am PT because we've already gone past the halfway point. This weekend the tag team of Brian Zeid and Jerry Sloan of Aurora, Ohio threw their hats back into the ring for this one, and last night Joseph Jefferson of Englewood, Colorado jumped into the Ultimate League and the Super League on that weekend. We're glad to have both veteran players back in these private leagues and we'll try to fill them up shortly.

The Ultimate League is paying back a record 92.5% in prizes this year, with one team having a shot at winning $41,000. The payouts include the following setup:

NFFC 14-Team Ultimate League
Sunday, Sept. 5th, 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT

1st: $31,000
2nd: $15,000
3rd: $7,500
h2h champ after Week 13: $5,000
Total Points champ after Week 13: $5,000
Consolation Round champ: $1,500

We are asking folks to pay for this league via check to avoid letting the credit cards profit from this league, leaving extra prize money for the participants. We are hosting this draft in the Monet Room at the Bellagio, but we are hooking folks up via teleconference if they can't make it to Las Vegas. It's something we'll do for the Ultimate and Super Leagues to help fill them up with the best players in our contest.

Let me know if you want to reserve a spot for this one because we're heading in the right direction in a hurry. Here's the current lineup card, with six spots still available:

We now have only FIVE SPOTS LEFT for the NFFC 14-team Ultimate League on Sunday, Sept. 5th as Steve Lembert of Gloucester, Massachusetts has jumped into this event for the first time. Steve is a long-time fantasy player who came across the NFFC site this month and loved and Ultimate League format and payout. We're glad to have this new member on board and in one of the toughest events we offer. Welcome aboard Steve and best of luck in the hunt for the $40,000+ in prizes.

Mark Moyer of Laurel, Maryland has jumped back into the NFFC Ultimate League and we're very happy to have him back with us. Mark has competed in the NFFC every year since 2004 and he's been in the Ultimate League each year as well. Welcome back Mark and thanks for all of the comments about the NFFC's plans and events. All is good. Best of luck in the hunt for the $40,000+ in prizes here.

Okay now, we're down to three spots left. Who wants to jump into the Ultimate waters with these sharks? :D Spots are limited.

We now have only TWO SPOTS LEFT for the 14-team NFFC Ultimate League on Sunday, Sept. 5th as NFFC veteran Jonathan Lueth of Modesto, California is back again. Jonathan has been in every NFFC Ultimate League since our beginning in 2005 and he's returning in full force, grabbing spots in the Classic and Primetime leagues, too. Welcome back Jonathan and best of luck in the $40,000+ in league prizes here. This will be another fun, fun time and we'll do it up right at the Bellagio in September. See ya in less than three months.

Okay, TWO SPOTS LEFT!!! Let's close this out and come up with a proper time to set our KDS preferences and videotape the draft spot selection process. Wow, what a great start to the season. Thanks all.

It looks like Joe Berg of Fullerton, California has nabbed the last spot in the NFFC Ultimate League on Sunday, Sept. 5th. Joe is a first-time member of the NFBC and he's having a BLAST with his five teams there. He looked over our list of events in the NFFC and is excited to join us at the Bellagio in Las Vegas and draft with us there. Welcome aboard Joe and best of luck in the hunt for the $40,000+ in league prizes.

Okay, this league is set!!! We'll worry about payment and KDS deadlines in July, but it looks like this could be the first league we videotape the draft slots for. Awesome, awesome. Enjoy all.

I'm doing a show on this league next Friday night.

I've already confirmed Glenn Schroter as a guest for this show. We'll be talking various winning strategies for the NFFC.

If anyone else from this league of drafters is interested, please shoot me an email at - [email protected]

If there are any questions you'd like answered from the guests just list them here.

I want to know what in the world would possess somebody to drop down 5k against this type of quality drafters? It's like sitting down at a poker game with Negranu, Ivey etc.. It's certainly not because you think it's value, regardless of the payout %.

It's gotta be about something else....ego? Thrill seekers? Fame? Love of competition?
