Greg, I think the 3 row idea is a good idea for the big draft or even the DM draft. I think the u-shape layout is alot better for the auction draft though. It makes it easy for the players to see where the bids are coming from. Also theres a little bit of poker like reading of the players. Since theres no other drafts going at that time I was wondering if we could keep the u-shape for the auction?

John, we have decided to keep the U-shaped setup for all three leagues this year. We have plenty of space in all three cities and we thought the extra space would be good for everyone. So yes, the U-shape will stay for the Auction Leagues and it will remain that way for the Draft Masters League and the main event.

I know you understand the setup, but for anyone who wants to see what the draft floor will look like, go to www.fantasybaseballchampionship.com and look at the rotating photos on the home page. There's a great one of the facilitator pointing to the draft board with the players sitting in their seats of the U-shape setup. Meat Loaf is in the upper right hand corner, intently figuring out his next pick!!!!

Greg, please make sure the draft facilitators are consistent with the one minute rule. This was definitely not the case in baseball's New York League 1. In this league, the facilitator started the clock as soon as the previous pick was made. While this did move things along quickly, it created a problem with the "sticker guy" not putting the picks up in a prompt manner. Since it was hard to hear the selections made, and the stickers were not on the board, owners often got short changed on their allotted time.

Guys, we have a list of guidelines that have been sent to all of our facilitators and will also be given to them on site. Included on the list is a clear instruction about when the stopwatch is to begin for the following pick (i.e. once the stick has been applied to the draft board). Greg, Rocky and I will emphasize that point when we meet with the facilitators prior to each event in each city.

Greg, I like the U shape and glad you've decided not to change that element. I also like the fact that the clock doesn't start until the sticker is placed up on the board for the previous pick. We've all waited a long time to take part in these drafts and I see no benefit in rushing the process. Savor the moment and ENJOY the whole process.

Thanks Sack. Yes, we realize that and will enjoy the Draft Day as much as the participants. Like Tom said above, we have a list of guidelines for the facilitators and will meet with them beforehand in each city to go over these finer points. We certainly want to keep the drafts moving, but we also realize that everyone needs the necessary time to mark off their Cheat Sheets after every pick. This should be fun. See ya all on Draft Day.

Okay, I've been thinking about how to ask this question for some time and despite the fact it's going to highlight the fact that I am a rookie I have to ask:

I am drafting in Chicago. There are 56 owners (4 full leagues) Does that mean there are going to be 4 Draft Boards? And if so (I assume) the four leagues draft separate from one another???

Do the announcements of picks get made to all 4 leagues? If so why? The only pick I should be concerned about are the picks in my league - right?

Would one of you veterans please respond to clarify this for me.
