FA Bidding Process

Post by JerseyPaul » Wed Sep 08, 2004 5:57 am

We have lots of time as we can't bid on FA's until after Week 1.

That being said, I for one would like to know what the specific rules are and what the screens will look like. For example, some other unnamed baseball contest that starts with a "W" has a rule that conditional bids have to be for a lesser amount than the higher ranked bid in order to avoid some unlikely problems in resolving awards. No problem, as long as we know.

It's also not clear to me how to get to the bidding screens.

Anyway, when you have nothing else to do, a paragraph or two from you or Stats would be helpful.

I certainly understand your concern JerseyPaul, but I have a feeling that those screens won't be available until Tuesday. I have to defer to STATS on this one as they are in charge of the game site, but I believe that's the process we're using so as to not confuse anyone this week. Between Tuesday and Friday we'll make sure everyone has their questions answered on the free agent bidding process.

Again, if I'm wrong on this point, hopefully STATS will interject a reply. We're working together, but they have been swamped today with requests for user Ids and passwords, as well as cleaning up a few lineup changes we had to make. Thanks for your patience.

Paul/Greg,

The FA screens are up. Under the "Transactions" drop down menu, click on "Free Agents". All of the undrafted players are listed. Click on "Place Bid" and the bid amount/drop player screen comes up. It's exactly like the NFBC screens.

Paul, are you not involved with NFBC? Shame on you.

LOL, Hojin, isn't giving you my money in WCOFB enough?

I'm with Hojin on this one. Get your butt in the NFBC in 2005 where the REAL action is! I think we have a good shot at filling up all 300 spots this year.

They didnt have anything there regarding the conditional bids...How would you work it if you want player "B" if and only if player "A" is taken?

Jersey, Hojin will definitely be back in Las Vegas for baseball. You can certainly draft in New York, but you must admit that the thought of Vegas in March after a long winter and during the first weekend of the NCAA tournament is appealing. It's almost worth doing the NFBC in Vegas and taking a shot at Hojin again!!!

We had 6+ leagues in Vegas last year for baseball and I wouldn't be surprised if we get 8-10 this year. What are the odds you get put in with him again????

Ummm... 1 in 10?

As I write this in my League:

3rd: Hojin 98
4th: JerseyPaul 97
5th: 96
6th: 93

Is that exciting or what? Would you believe that nobody has posted in months except for a scoring change and an issue about which Free Agents are available.
