regarding steeler/dolphins game

Post by renman » Sat Sep 25, 2004 12:31 pm

the latest reports are that the game will be played sunday night. but "could" be changed again.. if the game were cancelled and replayed later... what happens to players from week 3 in fantasy from this game? i have the carolina defense, and drafted the steeler defense on the bye week for carolina specifically because i thought the matchup VS the dolphins was a good one.

if the move the game to another time do the stats still count for week 3 in fantasy?

As an FYI, the FFTOC has told its players that if the game is played after TUESDAY, any scores for that game will not count but the players will still be considered played (thus can't be used again in that one time for everybody unique format).

That ruling makes sense to me as even here as weekly results does play into free agent pickups and ongoing tactics.

If the NFL moves a game to Tuesday, where is the reasoning that anyone with a player or players in that game should get screwed? Just count the scoring like any other week. If the NFL is moving a game to another day, Fantasy Football should move theirs to another day. If for some reason the NFL moves all games to Wednesdays for the rest of the year, should we all just end the Fantasy Season?

what if they move the game to a date later in the season, say like week 6 for example?

Greg/KP need to make a ruling on this before the 1pm games kick off on sunday so people can plan accordingly.

GG, I think if the game is scheduled for any date later than Thursday, then there is nothing anyone can do. To ask for stats to be added to week 3's totals later in the season would be way over the top, even under these circumstances. I say Thursday, because Friday is free agent day for the following week. But to exclude any stats merely because the game may be re-scheduled a day or 2 later doesn't seem right. If that happens, then anyone playing on Thanksgiving shouldn't be counted either because it's not an official Sunday/Monday week.

I haven't made a decision yet with my service. Learned many moons ago to be a patient as possible.

There is really no week to make it up, not even thanksgiving day. I'm sure they'll get it played by Tuesday. And then the ratings will be huge and have Tuesday night FB next year!!
