Cool idea. However, there is a risk that 22 players will get the 1st pick in advance, but then we later find out that only 20 leagues get filled up. I would think that the 2 owners having to switch picks last minute would not be very happy. Also, if there ends up being more than 22 leagues, you end up with a similar problem to one described earlier. All of the last entries get placed in the same league. someone with some smarts!!! that is refreshing! good show ernol [/QUOTE]This would not be a problem if the number of leagues formed was a virtual certainty, like it is in the WCOFF. I'm sure NFFC will get there as well.

Or somebody could fall into a coma or die. Can't forsee everything, or make a rule for it, or not change a rule because of it.

Welcome to the boards, God Loves You. And remember, He (or She) does love you and me and even these guys who complain about not having their draft positions yet! I would assume everyone knows that I would love to be sold out today and announcing the draft positions as well. Nothing would do my heart (or my ulcer) more good. But the bottom line here as everyone has explained is that you just CAN'T do it until all entries are in and we are a contest that gets entries right up until our deadline on Sunday, Aug. 28th. I've done the drill before and I'll be working late every night from the 22nd to the 28th calling up prospects to convince them to sign up. And we'll eventually reach our goal and get the leagues formed and the draft spots announced on the 29th. Then it's five days of preparing for your spots, which should be enough time.
Again, I applaud the WCOFF for filling early and I envy them for that. They probably envy me for filling up all 300 of my baseball spots this year. It's a fun business. But we definitely won't pick any leagues until the 29th as it's obvious we won't hit 350 teams before then.
Each year we'll hopefully sell out quicker if we run a good business and retain most of you smack talkers. And if we ever add some elements that I'm working on, we'll sell out REAL fast. But for now, patience is a virtue, just like when I deal with my kids. So hang tight, let me keep working the phones with newbies and get this baby filled up by the end of this month. And then feel free to rip Tom for your draft picks, whether he picks them or not. He can take those complaints; I can't.
For everyone signed up right now, you should hope for no more signups as the prize money is already guaranteed and every new signup is another competitor for the $100,000!!! We can handle it again at 224, but I won't let that happen. I'm going to make Gekko and the others work for it this year and fill this baby up. Beating 349 other competitors for $100K is a tougher challenge than beating 224 and I'm going to do my best to bring that to you.
Keep the chatter going as I'm always listening....even when I try to tone it out.

i have not chimed in since last season... so let me throw in my two cents...
my thoughts are more aligned with "god loves you".
we all have our lists and projections.. the only thing that knowing your draft position tells you is who you are likly not going to have a shot at in the first round.. and maybe what your strategy will be for the first 3 picks or so. and even that often changes in mid draft as we all know few drafts go exactly as planned or projected...
greg has to first fill spots and leagues in the event before making draft positions...
