Vegas Gamblers,
Your situation with your family sounds like quite a triumph for you. Congrats...
With that being said, shouldnt you be spending quality time with your girls as opposed to breaking GG's balls on a message forum?
GG and I may not see eye to eye on many things but atleast my payment of the entry fee of $1350 allows me to break his balls since we are competing for the same prize...
You on the hand...

Hi my name is Gerard Sambola Rick's (tamuscarecrow) partner. We should not have a starting line up, all the players should be active but we should pick the one with the high score. For example if you have 2 qb and one scores 10 and the other scores 15 you would use the 15 score. By doing this we can go to a smaller draft and line up. the draft should be 15 rounds with 12 teams that is a total of 180 players drafted which is much better than 14 teams with 18 rounds which = 252 players drafted. This will leave more players in the fa pot to be picked up if needed right know we don't have this.
the line up would be
1 qb
1 rb
2 wr
1 te
1 def
1 k
1 flex
this is a total of 8 and we draft 15 this should do it, this would also make the draft more important because the 15th pick will be active each week just like the 1st pick. The best thing about this is that you don,t have to leave points the bench, this will take the guessing out of who you start or who you don't start. Lets face it the nfl coaches don,t want to tell who the starter will be and this also takes care of the running back problems.

I was not suggesting this is a dumb idea, just that I believe that the entire concept takes a whole lot of skill out of the equation, making it less desirable to most serious FF players.
1) Leaving points on the bench - this is where roster management and trying to figure out who to start is half the fun. Nothing worse than picking the wrong player to start but I want to be rewarded for the ability to make the correct choices if and when I do make the right ones. I want the satisfaction that also goes with it. The pain or nausea that goes along with making the wrong decisions and the 37 weeks between seasons to think about those bad choices is why we keep coming back. It is also a "fun" part of the game. That is really why we play, to show that we can make these decisions as well or better tthan the rest. How many times can you remember when your opponent made the wrong choice and it cost them a game that you needed? We have all seen this happen numerous times over the course of every season. This "human" aspect of the game is critical. Critical because we crave the rush for when we are correct and wallow in the anguish when we are not. Not too mention that it normally allows for more "smack talk". Ex: "You started Eli when you could/should have started Vick ...." (though this board does not seem to have much within league banter)
2) Roster reduction to 8 starters and 12 teams - this does not make the draft more fun and important. I believe it accomplishes the opposite. The depth needed to field a weekly roster of 10 is what makes the draft more important and exciting. This required depth really does make each pick important, whether it is round 8 or 16.
There are "DraftMaster" leagues available if you want to compete in this format though they do not normally allow for weekly in season moves.

IMHO this league is designed to challenge the participants. I really do not like any suggestion that includes a smaller league, smaller roster or variable lineup. Each of those changes would decrease the challenge and difficulty of this competition.
It is my belief that leagues that leave abundant starters available for week to week free agent pick up are not providing the degree of difficulty that I seek. Also, smaller leagues are "easier" by definition - because the random chance of winning is increased. They also increase the value of the randomly assigned early draft spot because the round two pick is two spots earlier.
My vote is keep the league as is - >"the most challenging format available".
Actually it would be my preference to eliminate the "flex" position but it seems that it is a fixture so my suggestion is to make the "flex" a backup and only credit one-half of the points scored by that position. I think it would add another decision making point. Owners would be forced to decide on their "worst" starter and place them in the half-point "flex" position.

ted what is idea for making the fa pool have more players or you think it should be the way it is now. do you think the best part of playing this game is the draft or after it and do you think the league should be changed at all

ted or bezoar do you think that the way the league is now is costing us members from year to year. ted you said serious players i question how serious the players are in this league. in my opinion it is not good for the league to have 1/3 of the members all ready out of it by week 7 this will cost you members from year to year. i would like to know if greg can tell us what the repeat % is fom last year and also what it will be come next year. i think will all just want to make it better and not loose any players
