Add D/K to Flex?

Post by Gordon Gekko » Tue May 30, 2006 4:28 am

I have a dr appt early this afternoon, and then I expect to throw a bunch of posts on the MB.

First one...
Any thoughts about adding the Kicker and Defense as a 'Flex' possibility. Any downside?

Not that I can see, GG. Just another option to add to the decision-making process each week.

i'm looking for any bad points about it. off the cuff, i think it will add more strategy and allow your line-up some much needed flexibility, esp once injuries and condensed bye weeks hit this year. managing 18 man rosters is a lot tougher than 20 man rosters.

Nice suggestion, GG. I have never seen this anywhere I have played, but it seems reasonable. The K/D are positions on our teams, so why not allow them to be played in the flex position?
It is going to make for a very interesting fantasy season with the condensed bye weeks, this could only enhance the competition, not hurt it.

These won't be "druged hazed" posts, will they?

I agree that the 6-team bye weeks will make things tough this year and adding to the Flex because of 18-man rosters is a good idea. I don't see a downside, but do we really want two kickers in a team's starting lineup? Twenty percent of your scoring would come from field goal kickers. Not sure if it's a downside, but it doesn't quite seem right. Is it just me?

I guess you can say it goes against the sense of fielding a football "team". I personally like the feel of starting a traditional offense (1 qb 2 rb's 3wr's 2 te's (or a 4th wr) ) with a kr and def and matching up head to head with another team. AS SEEN ON TV.

You think HE would field 2 Kickers ????
