That is EXACTLY why this shouldn't be implemented. You can pick up a comparable kicker or defense (unless you have an elite like Indy, Pittsburgh, or Chicago/Rackers) ANY week. sorry sport. the market would equalize if 2D's or 2K's were able to be used. come on dog, you gotta be ahead of the curve...not behind it

maybe you should up the % to 11%. it might keep you away from that debacle.
Maybe so. I didn't have that in the auction, because I was in contention. Maybe I was bored, etc. in the main, as I honestly can't remember?? Maybe you can find WHY I did it too?? ;)

In all seriousness, why are you attacking me Gekko??

Ponch thought your idea was lousy, as did Shrink Attack, RI, Nag, etc. It didn't seem like Snake or UYT would be in favor either should it come to a vote. YOU asked for the BAD parts of this, and we are speaking up. I believe the only people who were in favor were GLY and Scarecrow.

Obviously there are "flaws" if that many people spoke up against it.

RI is a putz. nag actually has some decent thoughts if you can get past the abrasive facade. snake and UYT are what you call the undecided vote. they will go with the majority ;)

in all seriousness, i just wanted to float the idea. i have no vested interest in it getting passed and i didn't put a lot of time into researching it.
Of course it would equalize, and THAT IS WHY I AM AGAINST IT!!!

I had a lousy year last year, as did you. If you feel I am a bad fantasy player because I had 2 kickers and 2 defenses on my roster at the same time, what does that say about your team????

I know what I have accomplished over the 19 years I have played this game, and know what I am capable of. Like anyone else, I am not immune to a "poor year", and ironically, between all my other leagues, it was my 2nd best year ever $$ wise.

Again Gekko, trying to "pick at me" because I had 3 defenses and 2 kickers at the same time is not the point here.

If I was the only one who saw flaws in this, I could see it, but the MAJORITY of people don't like it.

Again, I applaud your efforts, but this isn't a good idea IMO.

Sorry! :(

you and everyone else are on notice...this year i'm taking my game back to what got me the championship in the first place.
I believe last year you said something along the lines of "how we would all wonder why you made the playoffs every year?". I guess we will see in year 3?? ;)

Actually year 3 should be a "deciding year' for many of us.

Well fellas, I happen to research defenses as seriously as my other positions, because I feel you can't leave any points out there in week to week matchups. Had Baltimore two seasons ago, and Chicago last year, and not by accident. That being said, I'm still against adding Defs/Ks to the flex. Just don't like the fact that some pincushion who has no viable options left at RB/WR/TE, would be able to throw in some grievous kicker or defense at the flex, who is at least out on the field with the opportunity to score. By the way, with all due respect Rhode Island WorkChores, to disregard the value of Head-to-Head record as opposed to Total Points, is nothing more than unfounded opinion. So, if I understand you correctly, Team Thompson's 2-year NFFC record of 22-4 is somehow less of a fantasy accomplishment than say Glenn S's Total Points lead in the Lifetime Standings? I think the only true gauge would be to take the average of a player's Total Points standing, combined with that same player's standing in Head-to-Head record. If an NFFC player is #4 lifetime in Total Points, and #8 lifetime in Head-to-Head record, than the averages would more or less rank that player about #6 lifetime in the NFFC. So RI, you're basically telling me that last year, a player like Santana Moss was more valuable than a player like Marvin Harrison, because he scored more points? Never mind the fact that most of those points came in just 6 games, while Marvin's points came just about each and every week. Hey maybe it's just me, but I'd rather have the cat who drops 15 Ps every week, than the deep-fried, glittery snapshot, who drops 40 one week, than goes for 3, 8, and 4 the following three weeks. Both Points AND Record must be considered as far as ranking fantasy players is concerned. But that's just what I think. All the mutts out there believe Jessica Simpson is some sort of a Goddess.....I just think she looks like a young, cross-dressin' Charleton Heston. So what the f**k would I know?!?
