DraftChampions w/free agents?

Again the whole point of the Draft Champion leagues - as the name suggests - is to reward the champion of the draft
It also allows many of us who have too many teams to do these drafts and enjoy the draft and competition and then just follow so we don't have three or four more leagues to have to do FA bids, roster management and lineups each week.

If that is not enough "action" for you - just do more regular leagues or weekly lineup contests, but don't keep trying to mess up these leagues for the rest of us. [/QB][/quote]

Hook, In my last post, what I proposed had nothing to do with a starting lineup and nothing to do with free agent pickups. I'm not sure where you thought it resembled a "regular" league. I also WASN'T asking to reinvent the wheel, and change the format of the DraftChampions in every league. Just put a twist on it in ONE LEAGUE for some of the diehards that follow football all year long, and not just show up for 16 weeks a year like others.

To finish off here, since you pointed out the fact that DraftChampions means The Draft of Champions, why would it be a problem for a Draft CHampion to draft 20 people today, and 6 more guys a few weeks later? You have the right to your opinion. And when 14 guys fill up this new form of "DraftChampions" next year, I'll make sure we know you don't want to be in it. Thanks for your input.

Well I have to add my two cents here as I have watched the posts come through and I completely agree with Perry in leaving the DC alone. The beauty of this set up is that it rewards the strong drafter and really allows one to see how solid their rankings truly were. Don't jump in with the luck argument as with the size of the roster, it is up to the drafter to figure where he wants to be represented heavier. Should I only carry one or two D's to allow for protection at other positions or do I want more in an effort to maximize points.

This is a fantastic concept and one I have had both success and frustration with since it was created in the second year of the WCOFF. The scaly one got an extended roster out of Greg which was fine last year, but I for one hope we don't go and alter the actual concept. There should be NO WW or supplemental draft, all that does is allow for the less prepared drafter a way to try and correct for mistakes.

If you are finding trouble after just a few weeks, learn from it and take that knowledge forward in future years. DraftChampions is a great Fantasy Game and one that should be left alone IMO.

DraftChampions w/free agents?

Guys, In case the point here is being missed, I have been in about 8 DraftChampions over the last 3 years. Since day 1 of the NFFC. I know the concept. My question to Greg was to have ONE SATELLITE DraftChampions league with this new concept of an added draft a few weeks later. Since most draftchampions are held WEEKS before the season starts, there are ALWAYS 1-3 guys on any given roster that is 1-Out for the Season, 2-Cut by his team, 3-Arrested for Drunk driving, slapping his wife, or smoking weed, etc...

I do NOT want to change the draft champions format in the NFFC. I want to have ONE LEAGUE that has this different option. I respect most of your opinions on the boards, but I think this has gotten off base.

In case some of you hadn't noticed this year, Greg and Tom have customized leagues according to people's preferences in the online leagues. I happen to be in SIX LEAGUES that were totally different.

1- MAIN EVENT
2-AUCTION
3-DRAFTCHAMPIONS
4-DRAFTCHAMPIONS with Bidding of Points for draft slots.
5-TWO CITY NY/CHI TEAM CHALLENGE
6-THREE CITY NY/CHI/VEGAS CHALLENGE

So if you guys are talking about not changing anything. It's already happened. The DraftChampions will stay as is....This thread is geared towards a single, soilitary, lone, SATELLITE.

lol ... don't let them get to you Marc.

Open minds bring you the BBDS, the KD draft spot selection, the supersatellite, the CHI/NY grudge and the three city.

Closed minds bring you the .... the ... er ... I guess nothing new at all. Acording to them ... I guess Greg and Tom should have followed the rules of the WCOFF.

It's funny they don't offer any constructive critism other than "don't consider changing anything". I personally don't fear considering change. I will at least consider it.

Big Mike I like the idea a lot Diesel, and agree with Big Mike!

Like you said, it would be yet another "different" league for us to enjoy playing.

I'm just shocked that such a "winning" concept came from someone on "Team NY"! ;) :D

I don't know if anyone else thought about this, but if the NFFC adds a fourth city, we will have to create the 4-City challenge!
4-5 teams representing each city would be quite the draft/league if you ask me. If the city added happens to be in Florida, I might have to carry snakes....well, carry snake just like team N.Y. is doing right now. :D

New name for New League...Scout Masters.

(Not cub scouts!)

Many draft rounds (24-26)...optimum scoring...regular free agency with $1000 per team...dropped players removed from free agent pool.

Sounds fairly low maintenance and fun...and I agree...Draft Masters need to be just that...one draft...done...who's the best?
