Billy - I had this exact situation in the WCOFF two years ago when 3INTBOY was in my league and after 11 weeks he was 10-1 with the highest score in the entire event.
The only team that beat him in his league during the regular season played him again in the LCG - your guess as to who won!
So he may have had more total points and had the better record in our league, but I got the $$ for being League Champion - and had the better team when it counted (and come on - that's really all any of us care about at that point) I won the NFFC Champs Magazine league last year, but I believe I was 4th in points going in, and Renman CLEARLY had the best team through 13 weeks. I STILL consider him having the BEST team.
On the same thinking, if Jules doesn't win it all (although she has DOMINATED thus far), is the team that beats her REALLY the better team???
I know the team that wins the 100K will be considered the best team (obviously), but Jules is CLEARLY the best IMO.
That is why I would be ALL in favor of the NFFC taking TWICE your weekly average into the playoffs, so the BEST team (especially a dominant one like Jules) has a bigger advantage.
In my opinion, they have earned it.

BWaz - I am with you on that - in fact since the playoffs are three weeks long, I think you should start with three times your thirteen week average.
There would still be plenty of opportunity for someone to come out of the pack if they got hot - especially if they were close, but it would do a better job of rewarding the total points in the regular season.

Billy,
I vote #2, "right place, right time, favorable matchup"

H2H is obviously more of a crap shoot, while overall points is the better measure of who had the best overall team for the season. There is a place for both formats in fantasy football.
