I didn't get your "not any given single week though" statement.

A)...Mr. Zola...drafting a team with the playoff weeks in mind (Weeks 13-16) or late season in mind (Weeks 10-13) with all the twists, turns, byes, injuries, performance, lack of performances, etc., etc., etc. (ad nauseum) that occur during an NFL season is probably the most self-destructive strategy that an owner can employ to insure that an owner MISSES the playoffs ISHO...while you're waiting for that ONE Joseph Addai to break out and win the starting RB job and become a viable RB2, there are at LEAST THREE Lendale White's, Cedrick Benson's & DeAngelo Williams' to be had...simply trust SNAKE here, as he knows this...and DON'T ask why...
All depends on the league format. I play in a couple of leagues where 6 of 12 teams make the playoffs, at times with a 6-7 record. Here it is quite possible to enter the playoffs with 3 or 4 of the top-12 RB at that time, with favorable matchups. How do I know? Because my niece and nephews reap the rewards come holiday time when their Uncle spoils them with gifts galore from league winnings.
I play in another league that only lets the 3 division winners and 1 wild card into the playoffs. Here, the margin of error is MUCH less as a 10-4 or 9-5 team usually is the wild card.
In my first 2 years of the NFFC, I feel I was much too conservative with my picks, using the style that brought me success in my private leagues. I did not fare so well. Granted, LJ has helped my cause this season, but I decided I was going to draft high risk, high reward no matter my spot this season.

I have been saying this over in the WCOFF as well for a while.
Teams with Best Record and Most points should split the total league prize pool for those two spots equally.
It's a moot point to argue what team is better, because you're rewarding both. So each gets equal winnings for the effort and move on to the Championship Round here.
Nice and easy, and rewarding for both. And before it's even asked, no best record/most point teams wouldn't get it all.
