Greg/Tom - Please Check!!

Post by TamuScarecrow » Tue Dec 12, 2006 11:14 am

The Chicago Auction League, I am the #1 seed as the H2H winner and am currently scheduled to play the #4 seed who won this week. The #2 seed, Team Jurney who is the points leader, is currently scheduled to play the #6 seed who won this week. Is this correct? Don't care which one I play but want everything to be straight before this week's games start.

Tamu - are you sure that this is not run like normal seeding events - when the #6 seed beat the #3 seed, he should have taken over the 3 seed and thus should be playing the #2 seed. You are playing the "lowest ranked seed"

That's what I am verifying, Perry, as this is my first Auction league playoff and I'm not sure. Either way would be fine but it will also help for future reference to know this is how the seedings work. Pretty much like the NCAA basketball tourney.

From the auction league rules:

The lowest-seeded winning team from that round (wk 14) will take on the top-seeded team in Week 15 and the middle-seeded teams will also compete in the semi-final round of the playoffs. The playoff winners from Week 15 will compete in Week 16 for the league championship prize, while the losers from Week 15 will compete in the third-place game.

Looks pretty clear to me, but the current match-ups are not set using this rule. I think it might be better for me the way they are currently set since the #2 team scored about 100 more points during the season, but I would much rather have it corrected now versus waiting until there was a major controversy. That would be ugly.

May the fantasy football gods grant us some good karma.

I read the rules as BigMO does:

* If 6 beats 3 in Week 14, then 1 plays 6 in Week 15.

* If 3 beats 6 in Week 14, then 2 plays 3 in Week 15.

* And so on.

Could you explain Hook?

Greg,

We need a ruling on this issue. I think everyone should know who they are playing before the games start for the week. The thought of having this change after the games start and seeing some owner stripped of a win as a result is a bad buzz.

I don't think any of us care who we play, but we just want to know the match-up will not change.
