MathEmatical Draft Formula?

In the mid 90's when I used to draft, I we used a draft formula which was supposdly mathmatically fair to all teams involved. It was a snake for the first 2 rounds and then the order changed each round giving each owner an oppurtunity to draft at the top.

Has anyone ever seen this draft formula?

Yo Fish - yes, I played with this in a league years ago and is what I suggested in several different posts here earlier in the year. Unfortunately such an optimim draft order (giving every draft spot first pick through fourteenth draft picks in different rounds) would be a nightmare for the Main event.

I would be glad to try it in a satellite sometime next year though if we could get the right group.

I have a current live draft every year, that we redraw every 2 rounds for draft position to try and balance things out. I have tried to change it for simplicity sake but they love the format and we have used it for over 10 years now

As probability resets EVERY TIME, there is a chance you wind up with the last pick, or close to it, EVERY ROUND. I may have the WORST luck in draft slots, in the entire NFFC for the past 3 years...I trust Greg and Tom, but I know for a fact that if we did this in the main event, I would wind up with something like this.

Round 1- pick 13
Round 2- pick 13
Round 3- pick 11
Round 4- pick 11
Round 5- pick 14
Round 6- pick 14
Round 7- pick 8
Round 8- pick 8
Round 9- pick 13
Round 10-pick 13
Round 11-pick 9
Round 12-pick 9
Round 13-pick 11
Round 14-pick 11
