Friday Chat Has Commenced
I look forward to the day when you can change your Message Board name to MyAssIsOffTheFence!
Seriously, I understand where everyone stands on this fence sitting. We've seen other contests fold in the last week. We saw a similar multi-city event (Fantasy Four Sports) fold last year. Even online contests are struggling to reach their stated payouts. So why should the average fantasy football fan who doesn't know Greg Ambrosius from a hole in the ground or Krause Publications from FHM trust in us holding up our end of the bargain? I understand the pessimism and certainly understand why everyone is waiting until the last minute to commit to us.
It's giving me high blood pressure, but I understand.
The best show of support is all the NFBC guys re-upping for football and there'd be more but that is a very die-hard group of fantasy baseball players. If we had done them wrong the first time, they wouldn't be back the second time. And as Nathan and everyone else can tell you, we ran a first-rate event, gave away first-rate goodies and are still running a first-rate online contest. And they are lucky to playing in a contest that paid back 90 percent of the entry fees because we wanted to guarantee the prize structure the first year.
Tom and I will work late every night from here until Aug. 30th to answer any questions you guys have about the NFFC. Call us at 715-445-4612 (ext. 284# for me, ext. 653# for Tom) and we'll gladly ease your fears. Thanks everyone.

I really don't understand the fence sitting thing. The management of this thing is first class. Every promise... magazines sent early, autographed pictures for early signups, etc. have been fulfilled.
As for the prizes, does it really matter if it's 500 looking for $200K or 250 looking for $100K plus league prizes? The bracelet is really the important thing or is it a jacket, maybe a chincy tee shirt.

Hey folks, if people feel like continuing the chat tonight, I'll be hanging around.
For those who haven't heard, Correll Buckhalter got hurt tonight. It's a knee injury, but no word on the severity yet. Reno Mahe is the current backup, but I have to believe Andy Reid will try to find another RB option. James Stewart and Stacey Mack are the top veterans available. Of the two, Stewart has more experience in the West Coast offense, but Mack would provide needed muscle in short-yardage situations where Buckhalter was more effective than Brian Westbrook.
Stay tuned.
Oh, Terrell Owens had an 81-yard TD on the Eagles' first play of the game. In other action, Randy Moss had a 67-yard TD catch against the Falcons.

Well if you look at what he did last season and then take away 2/3 of his competition for carries and factor them into Westbrook's possible production, his value soars. However, he is an injury risk and I don't think he's a guy you want to give the ball to 20+ times a game. I would be surprised if Reid didn't look to acquire another RB to work into the rotation.
I'll be updating our rankings at www.fantasysportsmag.com on Monday, but my early thought is that I'll probably move Westbrook to the No. 16 position among RBs just behind Bennett and just ahead of Domanick Davis.

Zaleski, you know a trip to Iola, Wisconsin is PRICELESS!!! And you've never been here yet.
For the record, we have a Military Show in our town of 1,100 today: 500 veterans with tanks, helicopters, re-enactments and the whole nine yards. It's a treat to live here this weekend.

Good thinking Tom, makes sense. After all Westbrook was the 20th ranked RB last year playing in 15 games and with Staley and Buck. Now he makes the huge move up to 16 as the feature...I'll buy that
