Flex Option

greg - i know there has been talk about allowing the owners the flexibility to change the flex designation to a player whose game hasn't started yet.

for example, suppose i have tomlinson at RB, kevin jones at RB, and julius jones at flex. the cowboys game started at 1pm, while the chargers and lions game starts at 4pm. tomlinson is ruled inactive at about 3pm. you don't have another RB on your bench, but you do have a wr (kevin curtis) that could play flex if julius jones was allowed to switch to RB.

any insight into if this functionality will be possible this year

I wonder if this degenerates into yet another "Is the Flex an official starting roster position or not" debate.

Every rational human being knows it is NOT, of course.

Forgive me for asking this (cuz I don't remember) but can we not change lineups up til game time of each game? Sounds like we can't.

Yes, we can change up to gametime. This has to do with being able to shuffle the flex.

See Gekko's example.

That would be a great addition. It should never have been any other way...so long as the software can handle it.

Bench players who have not yet played can be swapped with starters who have not yet played regardless of position...as long as you can keep a valid lineup set. (i.e...sliding that "flex" to RB, and inserting WR at flex.)
