Purple Helmet,
Personally I would stick to Vegas....Wouldn't you rather see some hot chicks wrestle in mud at the local cat house over watching a bunch of Trekkie Dungeon & Dragon nerds battle it out over the flex position ?
The only flex position that should be brought up is the one with the legs to the ears that make up high heeled earrings,,,,
see ya in vegas, budd

Yes, if you were in front of your computer, you could switch it, but like Patrick said, "not everyone can get to a computer WHEN NEEDED on game day" (not exactly his quote, but you understand). OK.
Thanks Bill,
You are correct.
Any fantasy player would just switch them when it is announced. You know, the ones that keep up with inactives?
Table salt keeps coming to mind.
Actually, the better owners would have him at the flex anyway. He went inactive, so there must have been some inside info somewhere that he had a boo-boo.
It really isn't that I'm against the rule change.
I just wanted to be clear in my understanding that it was of absolutely no use to any serious (NFFC) players. I was afraid I had missed something.

Wow, what a mud wrestle last night while I was getting my beauty sleep. For the record, Lou did bring up this point originally after it had affected his team in 2005 and we agreed with STATS to reprogram this in 2006. We/I dropped the ball and didn't make this a priority in the off-season and now GG has brought up this point again. I have forwarded this to STATS and asked if we can get this upgraded for the 2007 season and I will let you know what they say as soon as I can.
Credit goes to Lou and GG. Blame can go to me. But overall, I agree that if we can make the Flex position even more flexible, I'll be happy. It actually was the intent all along and I wasn't aware that you couldn't move that spot before Lou brought it to my attention in 2005. Let's get it right if STATS can help out before the 2007 season and move on with this thread.

Greg, if things remain the same, we should probably change the name "Flex" to one of the following:
Inflexible
Obstinate
Ornery
Rigid
Stern
Stubborn
Unaccommodating
Unadaptable
Unresponsive
Unyielding
Of course, all of these names could be applied to certain message board posters as well...

OK, let me see if I understand this so far.
A) Lou tried to make a move with a player in the flex, a move that Greg had intended to allow in keeping with flex being flexible, but couldn't due to software issues.
2) GG chastised Lou for not knowing the rules, although the flex was intended to be flexible.
3) Greg said he'd see if it could be changed but, due to running a business, fantasy leagues, family issues, and dealing with MB posters 24/7 had it fall through the cracks.
D) GG flip-flopped on the issue and used an example showing his knowledge of the rules was worse than Lou's a couple of years ago while bringing the needed change in the flex spot back up.
E) Sound Advice really doesn't get any of this.
6) It's a good change and Greg is finding out if STATS can make it for the 2007 season.
Oh, and in multiple threads Snake has professed a love for Tom Brady that goes well beyond the usual man-love that one has in fantasy football.
Did I miss anything?

Without me going back to read the original thread, how did I flip flop? Rules are rules. Procedures are procedures. In this case, we were bound to play according to how the system was setup.
Now, we are trying to change it. No flip flopping here.
Now, 4D get ready for the Super Sat league. Maybe this is the year you can beat me. LOL

Thanks for being the catalyst for this rule change. Someone usually has to take it on the chin during the event for a rule change to be necessitated. BTW...I have no problem with pimping your business here....why should I...it's not my event. If it's ok with Greg then I think it's smart to network. It can only help both businesses.
Thanks again to Greg for trying to make this happen.
Oh yeah..almost forgot. Thanks to all the MB egos for the continual posting. I print them off every day before I sit on the throne. I must've saved a small fortune over the last 3 years on toliet paper.
