Draft Champions Satellite

Post by eddietheking » Mon Jun 25, 2007 8:08 am

Just to make sure I undestand the Draft Champions contest, being my first time, we draft 26 players and teams, no free agent pickups, no lineup or bye week or matchup worries as the computer scoring system simply picks out our best scorers for each of 16 weeks and the top three scoring teams win at the end with no playoff. Seems like the easiest team management style, hardest or longest draft though.

Eddie, you still have the bye to keep in mind.

It's not as important as regular leagues, but you still have to make sure you have players playing every week. More than likely, after 26 rounds, you won't have a problem with byes, even if you didn't keep it in mind, but there is a chance that your defenses or kickers or QB's are on the same bye week.

Thanks for clarifying guys, the web site was a little confusing as to whether or not we had to submit lineups or not, thought I had it right when I signed up initially.

And yes I do figure the bye weeks in as a factor when drafting, no good to have the Chargers and Panthers both D's off the same week, ty though for that reminder.

The thing I'd be worried about, and I notice a few early drafts already, is somebody getting hurt in preseason that you can't replace in this style of contest, so I signed up for the last one on August 26th. Now I'm thinking with having 4-6 backups at almost all skill positions maybe go for the first one August 12th as well. Seems like the only other date in August for satellite. Seems like these should be fun and there is no worry about head to head fallout or upstarts, just pure points.
