I'm just saying,
John Then Coltsfan, JerseyYo, kapefear and Raiders should've come up with this idea or start their own draft.
Honestly I'm not trying to be a jerk but you guys are wearing me out with this. "why can't we do this..why can't we do that"
I've tried to listen and change things as per suggestions but this will go on forever if I don't simply announce something solid.
I will call Greg by Monday and we will settle the particulars and announce the league. If after hearing the league structure some of you can't or don't want to participate just say so. There are folks waiting in line to do this league so filling it won't be a problem.
Again sorry if I seem rude but we need to make a decision and run with it. [/QUOTE]True, but why not start it on whatever date you want with a 24 hour clock?
John
PS. Great idea, but run wrong could end up being another Favre to Jets move. Or Eli can't throw into the wind, one and the same.

A very slow 2009 draft
whatever you guys decide is cool with me. Just let me know the date and time early enough to prepare.
A very slow 2009 draft
Route C, I commend you on trying to get a draft together even before the SuperBowl has taken place. We are just making SUGGESTIONS seeing our credit card hasn't been swiped yet.Dont take OFFENSE when other people offer there suggestions and state that maybe "So and So " should have started a league..I was under the impression this was going to be FUN nice and slow with no Guns to someones head thats all.No ones trying to run YOUR league..........

It's not about taking offense it's about moving forward. It's not my league only my idea. I listened to suggestions but if we try to make everyone happy this league will never happen.
I'm trying to stay as true to the idea I originally had as possible.
This is my original post from page 1.
I was just thinking...I wonder what the earliest date would be to get 14 people together for a 2009 NFFC draft
I think it was Feb. that R.Benetti organized a league to test out 3RR before it was implemented as part of all NFFC serpentine drafts.
We drafted half our rounds then and the rest sometime in the summer. It was pretty cool. Anyway...it got me to thinking about the possibility of doing a once a month partial draft as a means of satisfying the FF hunger during the down months not to mention the satisfaction of drafting players waaaaay before any lists come out.
What if we did a DC that started in Feb and drafted 6 rounds. We take off 1 month and do the same thing in March..continue the process in April and May with 8 rounds for a total of 26 rounds then finally complete the process in late August with 2-4 more supplemental rounds.
I was thinking...there are at least 14 die hards that chat these boards up anyway throughout the winter...mostly trying to project 2009 draft strategies. Why not turn that into a little more winter fun!
I'm throwing this out to see if there might be enough interest. It could be a cheapie satellite $125 or so.
What do you all think?

No problem......Lets do it.........
A very slow 2009 draft
Jeff,
The main reason the 24 hour clock sounds appealing is that getting 14 guys together 6-7 different times (even over the course of 6 months) will be challenging. There will be guys on vacation, out of town, working.... I can just see this being a major challenge whereas the 24 hour clock will help take care of trying to get us all together at the same time so many different times.
Since I"ll be in Indy on the 10th next month we can arm wrestle for it!

Wayne It's nice to see you've found a reasonable way to conceed your idea.
