If we get a "slow auction" going would it be better to nominate 14 guys a week or would it be better to nominate 4 guys one day and then auction those 4 guys off the next day. This way there would be an auction every other day and it might be somewhat less confusing than having 14 players all being put up at once.
If we started in February and having 60 players/month being auctioned then we would finish sometime around the first week or two of August. At that point in time all of our regular leagues will be well underway so it might be a logical time to end this league.
Shall I start a new thread and get it started?

Each player nominates a player to be auctioned off that week. (Having 14 players auctioned/week.)
You have the week to bid on each player with the highest bidder winning. There would be a deadline of say Friday at 10 pm.
On Saturday and Sunday players would submit a player to be auctioned off the following week. It would be based on turn order so if there was a duplicate then perhaps each player would submit some alternates as well.
Bidding would begin on Monday and end on the following Friday. This format would take 26 weeks from start to finish.
Jack Haan did an auction like this last year and said it was a blast. This would keep the league going the entire time without having to break for 3-4 weeks at a time.
Any thoughts?

I hate to throw out ideas that I can't do myself, but here goes.
I have no experience setting up or running a slow auction on MFL.com, but I have been in a few and they run great.
If anyone has experience setting up and running one there, maybe we could use it to run the auction?

I too feel we should cap it at 4 rounds and stick to the original plan.
I might be interested in a slow DC auction.
Not to change the focus of this thread, as I am waiting to talk to Greg about the final details, but I have gotten the "green light" to "sponsor" (for lack of a better word) a LIVE DC Auction in Chicago.
The main decision to be made is WHEN to have it.
The current options would be....
Friday evening (after the $650 auction)
Saturday morning (before the Main Event)
Saturday evening (after the NBC event)
Sunday morning (would conflict with the Super/Main)
Right now I am leaning towards Friday or Saturday night.
LOTS of great "diehard" owners in Chicago who love this format. It would be a $250-$300 entry and I don't think it will have any trouble filling up.
Just keep that in mind everyone, and this might push some of the "fencesitters" into coming to the Windy City this September!

I'm in for the DC Auction...and the slippery slide to entering 50 leagues begins.

Again...we can do a cheapie $125 and make it a H2H. I think it would be interesting to see how different our views are 7 months from now. It could also be a DC if you want but I was thinking it could be great prep for the main events. I LIKE THIS IDEA JEFF FOR AUGUST. I WOULD LOVE TO DRAFT WITH THIS SAME GROUP AGAIN.

Sorry for the delay.
I was toying with selecting Warner and almost waited to see if the Steelers ended his career before I took him.
I took who I wanted once the 3 rbs I wanted were gone.
IMO, Lance Moore is the NFCs version of Welker and in the DC format, I love him as my #3 wr.
