(I just traded Boldin for Brees.) I'm not a Auction guy. That being said Brees.

O.K. JEFF I'LL CHIME IN YOUR TEAM:

DEANGELO WILLIAMS: NICE FOUNDATION. THE ONLY THING THAT SCARES ME ABOUT HIM IS THE USE OF STEWART. HE IS DEFINITELY THE LEAD HORSE AND SHOULD HAVE A GREAT 2009 SEASON.

GREG JENNINGS: ALSO A SOLID PICK. CLEARLY THE NUMBER 1 TARGET IN GREEN BAY AND RARELY LAYS EGGS.

EDDIE ROYAL (WILD CARD PICK): WHEN ASSESSING EVERYONE'S TEAM I WILL ASSIGN A WILDCARD PICK. WHICH MEANS THIS PERSON WILL TAKE YOUR TEAM AS FAR AS IT WILL GO.

NOT SAYING THEY ARE YOUR BEST PLAYER BUT YOUR MOST IMPORTANT. EDDIE ROYAL IS YOURS. IF HE IS THE NEXT WES WELKER YOU WILL BE DANGEROUS, IF HE SUFFERS A SECOND YEAR SLUMP THEN YOU ARE GOING NEED MAJOR PRODUCTION ELSEWHERE TO WIN.

KEVIN SMITH: GREAT VALUE!!! EVEN BEING ON THE LOWLY LIONS HE WILL MOST DEFINITELY HELP YOUR TEAM.

OVERALL GRADE B+ NICE START JEFF!!!

Ok, Route C...

1) DeAngelo Williams - Even though he put up incredible stats last year, I agree with you that his TD total may drop. JS should be 100% healthy going into the upcoming season, which will limit DeAngelo's production. However, Carolina's offensive line is better than most (if they keep Gross), and Jake is a bum, so running the ball should not be an issue!

Greg Jennings - This was an excellent pick, as Jennings is the go to WR on the team, has a smart & tough QB in Mr. Rodgers, and a great compliment WR in Driver. Not only is his YAC impressive, the dude can flat out catch the ball!

Eddie Royal - It's definitely hard not to like a WR who caught over 90 balls! If McDaniels implements what he did in NE, then Royal can most definitely be the Welker in this offense.

Kevin Smith - Not sold on this guy yet, but definitely has some skills to get'er done. Although, Schwartz was a great defensive coordinator for the Titans, doesn't mean he will make a great Head Coach. Not to mention, Linehan doesn't impress me whatsoever! With that being said, other than Megatron, K. Smith would be the only other Lion I'd select because of his catching abilities. Too many ??? in Detroit Rock City, which usually means: STAY AWAY!!!

So, if SPEED is what you coveted most, then you surely accomplished that! K. Smith would perhaps be my only ?, but was arguably one of the better available RBs on the list. I'm more interested with your pick in the Next Round! :D

Pick 1.08

Wanted and was hoping Fitz would fall. But kind of knew Jeff wanted him at pick 1.05. Gore was falling was hoping that others wasn't has high on him, Gore went 1.06. When my pick was on the clock I was looking at 3 guys A.Johnson, S.Jackson and C.Johnson. Went A.Johnson. Why?

A.Johnson was the 2nd best WR and WR's go fast in NFFC Leagues. Plus was hoping that one of two RB's would be there in round 2. So Round 2 pick:

Pick 2.08

Barber went pick 2.07, so this pick was all about M.Lynch. Had Lynch 7th overall last year, so that should tell you what I think of Lynch. Round 3 already had R.Brown penned in when I sat down to do my rankings and who I wanted. When my pick was on the clock S.Smith was the only other guy I concerned, maybe I should have picked S.Smith?

Round 3:

3.07 R. Brown, my easiest pick. Could be a top 10 RB in a Running Off. Not sure were others had him ranked or were most would have selected Mr.Brown. To me too much upside to pass up here.

Round 4:

Wanted a QB, and wanted all Qb's that went before me, this pick came down to Rodgers and Rivers. Had Rodgers ranked higher, but went Rivers no real reason.

So my plan is working the way I wanted it to. Drafting with this many knowledgeable players is tough to get the perfect player in every round, but I've come close. I'm happy with my team so far. Already have a good idea of who I will end up with after round 8.

So bash away, because there's no reason to be nice. Telling me I was crazy to pick so and so is what I want to hear. Not 'M.Lynch was a good pick' ;) This League is a blast and I would like to see this be a yearly League.

Start the BASHING! Anyone not in this League is welcome to kill me as well. :D

Sorry my rank or grade is C. Middle of the pack team right NOW. :D

John

John,

I definitely can't fault you for going Andre Johnson but I think it would have been a much stronger start to go Michael Turner/Steve Smith than Andre Johnson/Marshawn Lynch. (But that's just my personal preference.)

My favorite pick of yours was Ronnie Brown. Very nice upside pick. The Rivers/Rodgers is a tossup and I think that QB was the right call there. The only pick I really don't like is Lynch. He was 13th in points at RB last year and 16th in pts/game. But I guess my main problem with him is that I just don't see much upside. If the goal is to finish in the top half then he is a good pick but with the league being a winner take all I would rather have gone with somebody who has a better chance of putting up large numbers.

I received a pm from somebody saying that our comments sound like a love fest so I'll switch it up a bit. :D There are not any rights or wrongs here - only opinions and that's kind of what I think. If all of the teams in this draft were available and I got first choice of any team this one would be somewhere in the middle. (My own team wouldn't even be at the top.) But DC's are never won in the first 4 rounds - they are only lost in the first 4 rounds. Good luck the rest of the way.

OK John here come the bullets.

First the good news...AJ is a beast....no doubt everyone knows that.

Rivers is alright but I think all of you who jumped on the QB train this early in a DC are insane. Letting others dictate your picks only empowers those who start the run. However...if you're going to jump on the train...Rivers is a very good pick.

Now the bad news....I hate your RB selections. I also like Lynch but you can't ignore the fading Bills offense last year. Alot of things need fixed..especially at QB and that only hurts Lynch.
He had 6 games under 11 pts. last year and 5 of those were 9 or below. Not great for a DC RB.

If that's bad then consider R.Brown. A whopping 8 games scoring 9.8 or less. You can do better than that with K.Faulk later on. Take away his 5 TD 43 pt game and he flat out blew last year. Among RB's I have him ranked somewhere between 30th and dog sh it!

You've got a good QB and WR1 but alot of catching up to do at RB. The question is..when do you catch up? You only have 1 WR...no TE and it's only a matter of a few rounds before the run on defenses begin.

Those are all the reasons I wouldn't have gone the route you chose but 2008 is in the books and this is 2009. There's a good chance you make my comments look foolish 7 months from now! ;)
