A very slow 2009 draft

Billy,

What can I say - great start! I believe you nailed every pick. I'm a bit higher on a couple of other RB's than Gore but there is no denying that he is a very solid choice. I absolutely love Steve Smith in DC's.

The only question I have is why Cutler over Rodgers, Rivers, or Romo?

As long as the Jets don't add another back to compete with Jones your first 3 picks were robbery.
Cutler should have great numbers again.
Great draft so far.

I have Cutler over those guys to. He has the weapons and I assume they are going to continue to throw in a New England style offense

I GUESS I'LL CHIME IN ON BILLYS DRAFT SO FAR:

FRANK GORE: A FLAT OUT WORKHORSE. ALWAYS HAVE LIKED HIM. HAS A TENDENCY FOR A FEW NAGGING INJURIES HERE AND THERE BUT A SOLID FOUNDATION.

STEVE SMITH: ALWAYS COME TO PLAY. DELHOMME FORCE FEEDS HIM THE BALL WHICH IS GREAT FOR FANTASY OWNERS WHO OWNS HIM. STILL MADE IT IN THE TOP TEN RECEIVERS DESPITE BEING SUPSPENDED FOR THE FIRST TWO GAMES.

THOMAS JONES: HOW DID THIS GUY SLIP THIS FAR? ALL HE DID AS FINISH IN THE TOP 5 RB'S THIS SEASON. I THINK HE WILL DUPLICATE THE NUMBERS HE HAD LAST SEASON.

JAY CUTLER (WILD CARD PICK): THIS START WAS SO SOLID IT WAS REALLY HARD FOR ME TO ASSIGN A WILDCARD PLAYER TO THIS TEAM. I THINK CUTLER WILL BE TOP 5 FANTASY QB THIS YEAR BUT HE IS THE ONLY PLAYER ON THIS TEAM THUS FAR WHO HAS A CHANCE T DISSAPOINT.

VERY NICE FOUNDATION BILLY. YOUR GRADE IS AN A SO FAR AND I TYPICALLY DON'T GIVE OUT TOO MANY A'S.

NICE START.

3:01-Clinton Portis- Portis is one of my favorites. Why, he always falls in drafts, and just keeps putting up the numbers WHEN he plays. Very good pick.

4:14-Carson Palmer- Didn't like this pick, after Romo-Rivers-Rodgers fall of is huge. Would he have been there at 6.14, I think he would have. Huge reach.

Grade B-, first 3 picks were great and a way better start than that Raiders Guy. :D

Should be interesting who you pick at 5.01. I can't wait.

Good Job,

John I pretty much agree with John so I won't be redundant.

Billy always drafts consistantly so even when I disagree with his choices it's not by a wide margin.

1)Gore...what's not to like. The right choice here even though I think you could make an arguement for a couple of others....but not a big one.

2)S.Smith...Merry Christmas

3)T.Jones...a solid back for H2H but not sure about a DC. I see him being consistant but not spectacular.

4)Cutler....I like Cutler but I think this pick was a sign of QB paranoia. I wouldn't have done this but because the rest of you decided to play follow the leader you've made this pick work in Billys favor. :D

A good start but I like my team better!

A good start but I like my team better! Only difference is Jeff you missed on RB2 in 4th round Billy missed in 3rd, but it's close both of you have solid teams, minus a QB. But who needs a Top QB in a DC League where you get 4 points per passing TD.

Pickup the Bat phone and call Jeff, I do think he needs to know this. :D

Thanks Matt, back to my point, having a top QB in a DC League were you get 6 points for passing TD is a major problem for Team Route C.
