A very slow 2009 draft

Hey Shawn...as I was reading your post it brought back memories of watching cartoons as a kid..you know...the ones where the character was drowning and all you saw was a hand come up out of the water. First they held up one finger..then two.

Finally three fingers went up before they sank to the bottom. I have a feeling you saw those cartoons too! :D If you think by missing a second defense, this team is a sinking ship you are mistaken.

I think to win most DC Leagues you need 2500+ points. You could win with less, but you also lose with more. In order to do this, you will need this out of your line up:

QB 350-500 points

RB 450-600 points

WR 700-900

TE 200+

K 175+

DEF 175+

Flex 225+

To win you need be on the high side in two of three highest scoring areas (QB, RB, and WR) and still hit your numbers in the other positions. This team is taking a beating in the defense slot, but it should have an edge at QB and WR. If this team is going to contend, it will need to make up the lack of defense points in RB or Flex.

The lack of defense limits the amount of points this team can score, but it also has the potential to score over 2500 points.

TO A POINT SHAWN BUT TAKE INTO ACCOUNT ESPECIALLY THIS POINT IN THE SEASON HOW MANY PLAYERS AREN'T GOING TO MAKE IT THROUGH THE SEASON LET ALONE MAKE THE TEAM.

I PROJECT IN ALL D.C. LEAGUES DONE BEFORE AUGUST AT LEAST EVERY TEAM WILL HAVE TWO PLAYERS WHO GET CUT OR INJURED EARLY.

WHICH DECREASES THE CHANCES OF YOU HITTING THE TOP THREE POSITIONS.

NOW AS WE DRAW CLOSER TO THE SEASON THEN WE CAN APPLY THAT MORE.

YEAH THAT'S A GOOD POINT BUT AT THE SAME TIME YOU WOULD BE STRACTING YOUR HEAD TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT POSITION?

VERSUS

A DEFENSE IS THERE NO MATTER WHAT LIKE BILLY SAID. EVERYONE WANTS TO HAVE DEPTH BUT IS DRAFTING A "HANK BASKETT" OR "JASON MCKIE" GOING TO HELP?

When you take your third defense which I think only offers minimal upgrade in points, you are passing on a player who could potentially have a starting job.

I like to keep my defenses to two in DCs because that position has no injury risk.

I would rather have an extra RB or WR to try and add depth because you cannot make moves if you lose players.

To me the added skill position player is like an insurance policy. Same goes for kickers.

Just my 2c
