Hope I don't get stuck with him, but I'll go Jason Elam for 2.

I think we should let Bob have as many $4 DST's as he wants. The more you guys keep getting sucked into this the more you give the advantage to those with alot of cash.
Right now there is 1580 total $$$'s left to spend with 308 players needed to fill rosters. That's a little over $5 per roster spot.
What the hell are you guys thinking spending over $4 on every DST. It's totally insane how this group is getting played!

It would be interesting if Bob got all the rest of the defenses. That's not going to happen though as I'll get 4 of them, and I know I'm gonna spend 4+ on each.

It's just funny to me. I don't even care if you guys keep doing this. I will gain a significant advantage by sitting by and watching it happen without buying any more DST's.
I just don't understand the logic.... which makes me believe that ZERO research has been done on this.
Here are some fast facts:
If you take all the best DST scores from each week in 2008 (including Phillys 34 pointer in week 17)...the total is 401.
Divided by 17 weeks that averages out at 23.5 that's the best you could've gotten if you had the highest scoring DST each week.. an impossibility!
Now let's look at the other end. I currently own 1 DST..Denver..last years worst averaging 4.5 per week.
At the VERY BEST you gain a 19 point per week advantage over me but more likely around 10-12 if Denver doesn't improve at all.
Since we only start one DST my chances of making up that 10-12+ at the other positions are pretty good...especially at WR3 and the flex.
Ok...now go ahead and spend..spend ..spend on your DST's but you'd better get real lucky on some of your $1 players or you'll be looking up at the rest of the league.

why would you spend all of that time typing out that post? Do you want me to win this league? Alright, I'll change my strategy and stop bidding on defenses.
Just kidding!
(I just changed my budget to try to fit in 5 defenses, for a total of $37)

Best ball changes everything. When your flex scores 20 that doesn't mean he added 20. If your next best is 15 he only added 5.
I realize that's obvious but defenses have a greater standard deviation than other positions.
You would have blasted my 2008 DC auction team that wrapped the league title up about week 10. 4 Def, 3 K, no 1st 2nd or 3rd round players, no $10+ QB's.

Luck in FF is like a game of Russian Roulette. The BWaz's of the world only have one bullet to spin - the rest of us have two. It's still mostly luck, but ...

I've changed my position on this. I now support spending as much on each DST as possible. I'll even help drive up the bids.
Let's do this!
