If I was picking 12th, for example, and got something like Nicks, Fitz, Mike Williams and Mark Ingram I'd be pretty pumped. That's very possible in a 12-team format with 3RR.

Hi Tom,

Do you believe that you reduce your chances in the overall events by picking multiple players for the same team? Especially in the early rounds. A couple of examples would be Rivers/Jackson/Mathews or White/Ryan/ Turner or my favorite Johnson/ Best/ Stafford.

Thanks.
Joe

After what has happened with the WCOFF, there is understandably going to be some paranoia at the end of the year when it comes time to pay the baseball and football prizes. Your 100% payout performance speaks for itself. Nevertheless, there is going to be some paranoia if there are any internal accounting related delays in making payments, even if they are justifiable ones.

In light of the WCOFF debacle, have you put any additional procedures in place at the end of the baseball and football season to make prize payments back to players as expeditiously as humanly possible, and perhaps even quicker than they may have been in past years? Bill, this is a great question. As Tom stated, we just met with the STATS accounting department last month in Chicago to go over our payment plans and what is needed to make sure we get payments out quickly. We were not quick with payments at Fanball and it's important to show our NFBC guys that things have changed here, and of course, NFFC guys in December and January. We told them that at Krause's we always paid in full in about 3-4 weeks.

They not only said they could top that but could likely top that by a full week or more. The big thing for us now is that we don't have any W-9's for anyone on file because they didn't come with the Asset Acquisition. So we need to get every single possible winner to fill out a W-9 form online in September for the NFBC and then payments will definitely go out in October. I hope we get some checks out in 10-14 days and really make our winners happy.

In the NFFC, our goal is to process checks again for the regular season winners after Week 13 so that they have checks in their hands before the New Year and then post-season checks in mid-January. I think we'll again top any payment schedule we had previously at Krause's and definitely at Fanball.com. We will NEVER pay our football winners in late February like Fanball did last year. NEVER.

I hope this helps. There IS ABSOLUTELY NO CONCERN about prize payouts in the NFBC and NFFC and ABSOLUTELY NO CONCERN about quick prize payouts this year. We are prepared and ready to go for our baseball winners and we will open the Registration room and Slow Drafts in early November. We want our guys paid early so that they spend with us early!!! :D

Thanks. I will never pass on big-time talent just because I already have players on the same team. So the answer would be no - if I believe in a player's talent, I don't care if I have players already on the same team.

Greg, Tom

What's your take on Kenny Britt this year. I've stayed away from him in early drafts 1) because of his off-field problems and 2) QB situation. I'm shocked he wasn't suspended by Goodell and now they have Hasselbeck. What do you think of him and where is he in your rankings?

Feeling better about Britt now that it appears he will avoid a suspension. Hasselbeck isn't a stud QB but he's a huge upgrade over Collins and Young so Britt should be able do well. He obviously comes with huge risk because of his off-the-field issues. But he is a big-time talent and has Top 15 potential if - and that's the question - he can stay on the field for the entire season.

Following up on Diesel's question. If you draft WR-WR-WR, who would you be looking to pickup in the 4th and 5th rounds. Can they carry your team. If you're real strong at WR (which you should be), you don't need a stud RB. I'd be looking DeAngelo Williams, Daniel Thomas, Cedric Benson - RBs in that range who have Top 15-20 potential. But I'd have to be sure I had a solid RB2 after that. I'd also try to hit on an upside RB who could step up the way guys like McFadden and Hillis did last season. [/QUOTE]Pretty hard for you to answer this question because you would NEVER EVER start a draft this way, TK. This is truly "fantasy" football for you.

Jack, if you told me I could get Mark Ingram in the fourth I'd absolutely consider starting WR-WR-WR. The keys are getting Ingram (who I love) and having 3RR (which everyone should love :D ).

I actually did this in a 14 team $60 in early July. I had the 10th pick, took Roddy, Fitz, Marshall. Ingram was there for me, but I opted for Schaub (he was the 10th QB off the boards at 4.10).
