ONLINE AUCTIONS

Yeah, trust me, Tom and I would love to do more auction satellite leagues if the software is there for us to do it first class. We liked working with fantasyauctioneer.com, but we all admit that the software could be unfavorable at times and now they have shut it down for the next year. We'd give anything for MDC.com to develop auction software so that we could work with them and transfer the draft results right over to our STATS setup. Even if the ESPN.com auction software works perfectly, we'll be limited in how many auction leagues we can do there because every league would have to be typed into our NFFC software, which isn't ideal. We need player ID's to transfer and I'm not sure if they do on this setup.

Anyway, we'll report on the software and give it a thumbs up or a thumbs down. We'll gladly host some pay auctions there if it makes sense and will reach out to you die-hards first. Thanks for the interest and look for our report card tomorrow.

This is going to be fun. I know I can never seem to let well enough alone but....

Upon looking through the league setup page, it seems as though there is the ability to trade if we so desired.

I don't know about the rest of you but I spend almost all of my time and energy on leagues like the NFFC so I rarely get into a league that allows trading.

So I was wondering, would anyone want to turn trading on and make this league even MORE fun?

Just curious and sorry for rocking the boat.

It might make for some fun commentary throughout the year. Discussions about trades allowed and those that may have been rebuffed would be fun to participate in and could spur MB dialogue?

One more idea:

I think Greg and Tom should continue this tradition of drafting with the peeps but here is an idea of who gets to play the following years.

-- Tom and Greg of course

-- The top 5 scoring teams from the previous year, excluding Tom and Greg's scores (no worries here), would be invited back.

-- The balance of the players would be filled based on total points accumulated in one of the Main Event Auction leagues from the previous year. The top scoring teams from Main Event Auctions from the previous year would be invited.

You earn the right to stay with the group and the right to join this elite group based on your previous years prowess. If you have a down year, you are gone.

NFFC Survivor if you must.

Sorry Rob. No trading for me. It takes SO much time to evaluate trade offers. It also always causes bad blood when someone in the league disagrees with a trade that went through. You know I loves me some fantasy football, but I gave up trading a long time ago.

The ESPN software worked great.

Some loser in CHI (Rob B.) got booted out a few times, the rest of us kind of liked that, but otherwise it was great.

Let's get some auctions going!

The only team in NFFC Main Event history to win 11 games and not cash. :(

1683.8 pts. in 2009 is the record for a team with just 2 wins. Old record - 1479.95

I too want to jump in these online auctions, and was pretty excited to hear the new software at ESPN worked so well!

Sundays are OK, but I can't do the next two after today (7/5 and 7/12) as I will be out of town.

How about this Marc, you get one started when you can (I don't want to hold anything up), and I may try to get one going during a weekday sometime, as the demand to do auctions seems to be there.

Let's have 30 or 40 before the season starts!!!

Tom, you name the date, and the signups will start immediately. $125...Pay top 3. Marc, Russ Steele has volunteered to commish any pay satellite auction league we run on the weekend and I trust Russ enough to hire him for these duties. There is no question in my mind that the ESPN.com auction site can handle a pay league and so I'm all for you picking out a date and getting the first one going. $125 Pay Top Three works for me.

Let's get through the holiday weekend and shoot for Sunday, June 12th or June 19th if you'd like. 2 p.m. EST or 4 p.m. or 6 p.m. is fine by me. Again, start up a thread with a set date and time and let's see how this goes. I have a feeling everyone will like the software and enjoy the format. We're willing to take over the site duties and run this league once you're done.

Sound good? Thanks Russ for volunteering your time for these and let's get the satellite auction league season underway. Thanks all.
