Conditional bid help please?

I'm having a lot of problems with this process tonight too. This is my 3rd year and I have done it many times before but it seems screwing this time for some reason. I'm not sure if something has changed about the whole process or what.

i have two strings of bids.

one goes, a, b, c,
the next goes b, c

say i lose out on player a and my bid on b that's attached to a is higher than my bid on b where b is the first player in the string.

i want to make sure my first bid on b (the one thats attached to a) wins because i would much prefer to drop the player from the first sequence of bids.
