I did draft him in the mid season league, but it was at a point where drafting him wasn't a bad idea. But as it stands, Duce is #20 on the RB scale which is close to where I had him ranked before the season started.
But my point was that picking your own draft position wouldn't neccessarily help your team out better than random draws. Everyone has different values and injuries always occurs. Sorry man. Don't worry Vegas, I'm not easily offended. Really, I'm only offended by people that don't make sense, and that's not you.
As for Bettis, I understood that he could get short yardage and end up with a few TDs. What I didn't know was that every Steeler drive would stall precisely at the 1 yd line.
Where I felt I had the edge in drafting Duce higher was that many people believed that it would be somewhat of a RBBC, which I didn't think would happen. I also thought the PIT offense would be a force on the ground, which is looking very reasonable.
My RB options at that slot, per consensus opinion, included Fred Taylor, Domanick Davis, Barlow, Rudi Johnson and Faulk. Among that group, even now, I still like my pick. Barlow and Faulk have performed better so far, but I'll take Duce to beat them for the yr.
Not drafting Culpepper at early #2 was my downfall. Thought I could get a decent QB much later and didn't want the shortage at RB or WR . I'll pay for that lesson this year.
