Diesel, I've lived in 16 states and I would rank Louisiana #1 as far as food, partying, and friendliness, bar none with Texas #2 on that list. You're going to have to deal with some kind of weather regardless of where you live. In NY it's the winters and down here it's the summers. Cost of living and taxes are so much better down here though. I'm paying $1300 a month and that includes the taxes and the insurance. Sounds like you guys are paying $1800 a month to live in an apartment up there that is costing us $650 down here. I know union scale is good but the opportunities down here seem so much better.

I did Virginia for 4 years, Billy, back in the 80's and the taxes are murder. Bunch of crooks too close to the crooks in DC. Girls were great though and Virginia Beach was rocking most of the time.

Just a safe feeling with all of those battleships and destroyers around.

Invite is open to you Diesel for a Saints game in New Orleans next season and to be honest with you as someone who has lived down here for 24 years, the city will be better in 5 years than it has ever been in my lifetime as Katrina may turn out to be a blessing for the city and a lot of people who were trapped there who have moved on to better lives in other cities. Not to mention I'll need a GM in 5 years when I buy the team.

Scarecrow,You sound pretty serious with all that buying the saints.The ny giants wish they had me for there GM.I would have took shaun alexander over ron dayne any day.Just think where they would be with Alexander.

Tamu, I may jst end up going to Louisiana to work for a few months...It may very well be during football season. We'll see. My union has asked some of us, if we'd like to go, to travel to Louisiana to help out and make some money...I'd just need a place to stay...I may go down there with a friend or 2 to share expenses...I'll email you when the time comes, and maybe you can refer me to an area that would be convenient to commute to the jobsite...
