NY vs Chicago Grudge Match Update

Post by Diesel » Fri Jan 12, 2007 8:24 am

The payouts were supposed to be $135 to each winning team member. Not $125.

*$550 to the overall winner. (Billy Waz received $650)

$245 to the winning team for Pizza money.

I emailed all of this to Tom K a few weeks ago, but it still got mixed up somehow.

I just received my check also, and it was for $125 too. And $245 for the pizza party.

Tom owes each member of Team NY $10. And he needs to collect $100 from BWaz since he over-paid him.

If someone can email Tom K. at [email protected] and explain the problem, I'd be grateful. My son's birthday party is this weekend, and I'm VERY busy.

I'll have a lot more time to kill starting next weekend.

Snake, let me know what you and everyone else decides to do with that $24...If you let Team NY keep it, I can guarantee you that it will be returned to you when/if you ever draft in NY again with free drinks. But it's up to you.

Guys, Snake wants his $24.

It's $245 worth of prize money.

Less Snake's $24.

Equals= $221.00
Minus $66 (30%)

$155 for the Party.

Next year, if this league continues, we have to set some rules.

1-The Pizza money is a collective money and goes towards the party. If you don't come, you don't enjoy the benefits.

2-If one person receives the Pizza money, he takes out 30% to cover himself. (we need it written, so everyone is on the same page)

3-All rules/Prize money MUST be agreed upon by the league, and then printed on the SATELLITE PRIZES section on the NFFC homepage where it's easily accessible. There are too many grey areas here. This would solve most problems.

Totally disagree with you here, Marc. I'd really like to hear everyone's opinion on this one, in particular the rest of Team NY.

Snake, are you really pushing this issue? If so, bad form.

i know this wasnt "written" anywhere but it was widely assumed this was the purpose of the pizza money portion of the bet. If mom is calling you in you don't go home and take 3rd base with you, you let leave for the rest of the gang.

Snake, that's totally and completely against the spirit of the intended use of that money. Perhaps you don't realize this because you were not in the first year, but the team prize is not a cash prize -- it's a party. Sorry to hear you won't be making it.

I think the team should vote and decide what happens with the money.

I agree KOQ. Life is full of choices, and they all have consequences....good or bad.

As far as my situation, I PM'ed Diesel and told him I received $650. Was this not correct? At first I thought I was getting $650, and them it was $550, so I don't know what to think?

If not, where does the $100 go, and I suppose I am going to get screwed on the extra $100 I will have to declare in taxes?

Just want to make the situation right.

Just want to make the situation right. It all depends on how the accounting folks at Krause Publications want to handle this. If it were my company, I would ask that you mail me a check for $100. Your 1099-M that you receive for 2007 would not include this $100 payment, so there would be no tax implications.
