Proof that Gordon Gekko is not a tool

Tom

What's up with coming to Gordons rescue so quickly? GG has no problem defending himself on the MB as anyone can see. This was an obvious joke and even though I've taken my shots at NNOY in the past, I thought this was a funny thread.
Kind of like someone giving you a gift and then you open it up to find it's only a box. Everybody laughs and then just moves on. Gordon didn't seem that upset about it in his post.

I believe there have been a couple of threads started named after NNOY that were only started to specifically trash him. Where's the consistancy?

I still think that fight was staged.

Rome wasn't the only one who called Everett "Chrissy." That was Everett's rep around the entire NFL. I remember Johnny Holland (a former linebacker with the Packers) telling me once after a Packers-Rams game how the defensive players were chanting "Chrissy, Chrissy, Chrissy" during a film session on Monday after watching Everett intentionally get out of the way of a Packer defensive player following an interception. Funny stuff. That is funny, but...

It wasn't staged.... Why, I threw my own chairs 3 weeks before that...

Back then, Rome was still based out of XTRA in SD. He had done FB ads for me for the prior two years. Station would always invite me to his OC gigs and we met several times. I had an employee that was always in the running for "huge fax of the day". This was before the net.

Anyways, year 3, he quits doing ads for everyone. Boasts about on the air...

Greg's good friend and mine, CF, (CF and I did a 3 yr daily fantasy show on sportsline.com), voiced the ad for me. A second after it played the first day, Rome said, "I don't endorse that product."

I didn't go Chrissy, I almost went postal. Within 5 minutes, the station GM had doubled my campaign ($3k), and the next day, he made Jim apologize to me on air after the ad ran.

I'm not trying to be inconsistent and if I jumped the gun I apologize.

No apology needed Tom. I understand monitoring the board for EXTREME personal shots. You and Greg are doing a FANTASTIC job.

Thanks

Nathan, how about we keep the MB fresh without a thread that could basically just be an excuse to rip on somebody? Self-deprecating humor is one thing -- and something I'm quite fond of :D -- but creating a thread merely to allow people to take a shot at another member isn't something we'd like to see here. Hope you understand. Tom...do you really think we need a thread as proof? You did mention that you have spoken to Gordy via phone so I am sure you already formed an opinion at that time and date.

The program Gekko has grown beyond your control. Soon he will spread through this league. You cannot stop him...
Is my "weekend warrior" prep better than your prep?
