I am a retired Air Traffic Controller and I fear the antiquated system and current work environment more than anything.
Go to WWW.NATCA.NET to get a real status report on the state of YOUR Air Traffic System. At least it is your sytem for now, that is until it gets so bad that the Govt tells you it is broken beyond repair and can only be salvaged via an influx of Private Cash financed by companies like; Boeing, Lockheed Martin and the other vultures waiting to make your ATC system one that is Private and paid for by the users. Then I WILL be driving everywhere because safety will become a second thought to the almighty dollar.
Have a great Holiday Season at the airports this year. It will be memorable to say the least.
Note: sorry for posting thoughts on a non-football emotionally driven topic that YOU ALL should be concerned about.

Ted ... I Just Read that page....very, very, scary.... Well , you may paint the only scenario where the Government is a better choice than Private, Anyway, I had a friend in air traffic control and i asked him why he smoked a pack of cigs an hour, and he said if you had to work in a Tower , you would too. They were not joking when they ranked that the most stressful job of all jobs..!!

But I couldnt you know... however as the flight took off I became more and more calm - on one hand the claustrophobia made me care less if the plane went down and the bumpy pitching movement of the plane kept my mind off the the claustrophobia. Nuts huh?
