Fisher,

I would say the best INDIVDUAL QB in the NFFC as it related to their draft position was Brees. Though Mcnabb/Garcia combo has been very good.

I can attest to the fact that Brees was extremely productive, but if you had him in the playoffs, you BOMBED. I lost first place in one NFFC league by about 50 points to BWaz. In the last 2 weeks, Brees scored a total of around 18 points. That sucked.

Diesel,

I am right there with you. Brees, with what looked like amazing matchups, killed me the last two weeks. As did Boldin and A. Johnson. That is why I am so irritated because my team was so good that even with those performances I finished 5th.

What could have been...lol

Who are the top 5 WR's going into next season?

Are both Fitzgerald and Boldin in there again? A. Johnson was the top WR for much of the year this season. Holt? Steve Smith? Where does Colston get ranked now? How far does Randy Moss fall? Obviously all of these things are to be determined by offseason changes, but I see the top of the WR's board being muddled and not overly clear next season.

renny..that's arguably the best group of players vs. ADP on one roster this year. Too bad for you some of the others who should've produced higher (JJ/Boldin) didn't. Still...it proves you know what the hell you're doing at the draft table.
Nice job winning your other leagues.

Colston impact kinda reminds me of Boldins first year. This might sound stupid but he could be a top 5 WR next season....certainly a top 10 though.

I am sooooo excited for next year. If I select 1/2/3/12/13/14 I will do something I've never done before. I'll start RB/RB/RB. In 3 years in the NFFC I've finished 12th..17th in the championship bracket and 5th in the consolation round last year. RB depth has been my downfall every year so I plan to fix that in 2007.

RouteC,

Thats what I thought! But it was not meant to be. Still a good season and I have the personal satisfaction of knowing I drafted a super team on paper even if it did not win.

I totally agree with you about how 3RR can change strategy next year DRASTICALLY. Think about next season after the draft when all the experts are going from board to board looking at the sequence of picks. How many times will you hear "WOW! I wish I were in this league, look at these picks!!!!" Because there will not be as much similarity and consistency from board to board.

I think your strategy might be good next year given how many RB's emerged and likely will be better next year.

I think you guys are way over thinking the 3RR twist.

If you get the 14th draft slot ... you prepare like your drafting in the one slot (because you are after the first two rounds) ... but you get to start with Parker and Holt instead of LT2 and Williams.

It really is no different than how it was in 2006 ... other than the order you draft your first two picks will change. Also IMHO ... 3RR will catch on and I am pretty sure it become a standard in two or three years in all high stakes leagues ... unless it is leapfrogged by a more complicated method like auction or BBDS.

Ugly,

I agree that we will not "prepare" any different. What I am saying (and you pretty much agree here) is that the sequence of picks will change and predicting what teams around you will do wont be as obvious. Guys picking on the backside of the draft may not feel so obligated to take a RB first if they know they are going early in the 3rd. Maybe they take a stud WR first. The point I am making is the strategy teams use to fill out rosters through the first 4-5 rounds wont be as predictable and obvious as in the past.

That might be a good thing.

That might be a good thing. Actually ... it might be more predictable. the 13th and 14th picks will be more likely to take a WR in round 1 or 2 knowing they will also pick 29th or 30th. The 1st and 2nd picks will likely take a RB round 2 because they don't want to wait till pick 41 and 42 to get their second RB. Actually ... I see very little difference in this method other than the better receivers will shift closer to the back half of the draft because of the early third round pick for the late picks.

The Player position runs which were more likely to occure with picks 1 and 2 will now start with owners picking at 14 and 13 (the new 1 and 2).

This is the beauty of the 3RR. It takes that advantage and shifts it to the back half of the draft. As for who someone picks ... after round 3 ... the picks will be no different than it was without 3RR IMHO ... you will look at your three players and their positions and build your team from there regardless of the order you picked them. Picks 14 and 13 are just the new 1 and 2. It's really not that complicated.
