Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jeff Garcia was injured Thursday during a non-contact passing drill, the St. Petersburg Times reports, but the injury was not deemed serious.

The newspaper says Garcia seemed to be in pain after rolling out and throwing a pass. He reportedly was carted off the practice field in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. and limped to the locker room, where he received treatment from Buccaneers trainer Todd Toriscelli.

The injure was not deemed serious as of Thursday. "Jeff Garcia strained his calf," coach Jon Gruden told the Pewter Report. "We don't believe it's serious."

The Buccaneers have been mentioned as a possible trade partner with the Green Bay Packers if Brett Favre returns from retirement. If Garcia's injury turned out to be serious, that could give Tampa Bay more incentive to acquire Favre. Tampa has four other quarterbacks in camp: Brian Griese, Luke McCown, Chris Simms and rookie Josh Johnson

I for 1 would welcome Brett here. Nothing against Jeff Garcia for what he did for us last year. But he is fragile and his arm strength is questionable at best. Welcome to Tampa, Brett (I hope). Bruce

I told you to bet the house he wasn't even considered being traded to MN.
Smokescreen!
That's the best part of drafting early, some people have a hard time recognizing an outright, boldface lie.
I haven't believed a single word that came out of their camp since that blunder.
Caught in a lie like a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

Since they are putting out "misinformation" and most of the experts don't seem to grasp the situation, I'll add this:
They don't care 1 iota about him being in their division nor do they fear playing him twice. That was just more misguided analysis.
They would trade him to Chicago in a heartbeat.
There is one reason he's not playing for MN right now and his initials are AP. You do not stack 8 in the box against Favre.
There was never a fear that he would catapult Chi from the worst team in the NFL, to the 3rd worst.
Bring that dog and pony show to GB.
Another smokescreen because Favre would not play in Chi.
NY would not benefit from Favre.
The Chiefs are mentally handicapped.
That left TB. I've had him penciled in as their starting QB since they boldly declared in an outright lie that they would consider trading him to MN.
They lost all of their credibility on the subject at that time.
Read between the lines time.
My favorite time of the year.

Greg and Tom ...

It's playoff time and Aaron Rodgers held it together enough to make the NFC championship game against the Tampa Bay Farveneers.

Tampa is driving to take the lead late in the game. Who are you rooting for, Favre or the Pack ?
