Dave,

Just out of curiosity, what diffference does it make that he "was most recently a junior hockey coach?" Does this really make you leery? ;) ----------------------------------------

well they must have heard the complaints about the Commish being a Hockey Guy cause They just added Jerry Rice as another Commissioner. Is his former job ok?
;)

These guys are trying...I know Jerry Rice probably doesn't have much experience being a commish. But the pointing out Stans former job as being relevant was questionable...so I thought it funny they just added the guy whos former job was being the Greatest Wide Receiver in NFL history.
Jerry Rice's last job was as a dancer, not qualified.

I'm just beating Leroy's to the punch on this one. ;)

KJ,

I believe that Dave is one of the owners and a darn good fantasy player.

Now that he is on the other side, I do wonder if he should be quoting the "grapevine" and questioning another owners ability to manage their own challenge based on how they earn their living? Ethical at this point in the season? -----------------------------

Ted- I agree.
I don't think it would be fair if someone took a jab at Dave being a commish because of how he makes a living so I think it's inappropriate that Dave even brought up Stans former job.
What is Leroy's Aces last job? I'd like to know this before I decide whether to sign up for his contest.
What if someone's former job was "unemployed" or a window washer (no discrespect to window washers) prior to starting a multi-million dollar contest?

Maybe a person's background actually IS important.
YES AND NO WHEN IT COMES TO WHAT SOMEONE DID. WOULD I FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE PLAYING IN A LEAGUE BEING RAN BY BILL GATES OR OPRAH VERSUS JOE BLOW?

YES BUT AT THE SAME TIME WHETHER IF YOU ARE RICH OR POOR IF YOU ARE CROOKED YOU ARE CROOKED.

IT IS ALL ON THE PERSON RUNNING THE LEAGUE AND THEIR INTEGRITY.

I want to see all the Leagues that started up this year do well. Just means the market is there and it's better for us. The more the better. Will I play in FFOC, most likey no. But if they make it thru year one and things look like it will be a go in year two and they fixed there problems, then maybe.

Nag- Knowing there is the financial backing is what should be most important. I remember a few places and people like David Dodds Or even Greg here stating there is some real money behind it. I don't know if Stan himself is providing it or if it is a silent partner (I've heard some big money from Vegas) or if it is the first guy listed on their site that is a Big time Marketing guy of acts like the Rolling Stones and their tours.
"Len Gill
Len Gill has more than 30 years experience as an innovator in marketing, advertising and branding. Len is the founder of Echo Advertising and Marketing. As Chairman and CEO between 1978 and 2002, Len grew Echo to become one of the five dominant entertainment specialist-advertising agencies in the world. With offices in Toronto, Mexico City, London and New York, Echo developed and created the materials for some of the largest grossing shows, events and tours of all times for The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, U2 and CSNY. In addition Echo marketed movies, multiple Broadway and West End productions and a host of the other high profile events. Len also developed and created the Amex 'FRONT OF THE LINE' program. In 2005, Len started a new marketing enterprise called twenty6two int'l. Since its inception twenty6two has been responsible for the creation and execution all the advertising and marketing for Barbra Streisand, the Rolling Stones, the WHO and Genesis.

In addition to the work at twenty6two, Len has now taken on the role of president of Poised to stomp sports Inc (PTS) , and is determined to reshape the fantasy sports landscape through the unique and innovative prizing and marketing initiatives.

As much as there seems to be a rush to bash Dave by some here, the truth is, a person's background IS important and should play a part in forming ones opinions on the business. In this case, the contest.

Nag, Why list that as an observation if you didn't want to make an impact? especially coming from a competitor (which you are) makes it sound like a cheap shot, which it was.

Nag, you are a good spin artist and especially when protecting one of "yours" but he was wrong and I would question his integrity before Stan the Man if I was just reading this thread.
