I remember when Lou (BFD) was posting peoples drafts from here on his site and many here complained about their drafts being shown because sleepers players they liked were revealed.
I've asked them to provide an ADP when they get time...but with players doing 3 and 10 packs of teams their opponents could research their previous drafts easily. Just a lucky guess... It was the last thing we did back in 1997 before going live.

The FFOC scoring system is not one I would have used either. One example:
Fumble recovered for TD = 6 points
Fumble returned for TD = 4 points
So, if you roll over on a football in the end zone and score you get 6 points but if you pick it up and run it in, from say 90 yards out, it is worth 4 points?
No PPR at all.
I do like that they penalize defenses for getting lit up.

Ted- Each Fumble Recovered 2 points.
So each fumble recovered is 2 points by itself. So you get 2 for recovering it then 4 for running it in. It you just flop on it in end zone already you get 6. Either way it equals 6 total.

I don't know how Stan heard of these kind of threads but I think his responce from his Blog belongs here.
".................Yet I’m told that quite a few of you have been saying a lot of positive things about our game in other fantasy forums and really sticking up for the FFOC. Further more, a special thanks from me because my understanding is that quite a few of you are actually defending things said personally about me - when in fact outside of the FFOC forums and this blog none of you actually know me. That really speaks to the quality people that we have playing here in the FFOC, and it makes me proud to have you with us.
For the record, the FFOC is not hear to harm, intimidate, or attempt to offend any of the other fantasy football contests. We understand they we are a ‘new kid’ to this community, we understand that other operators have been in the fantasy space long before us, and we are trying our absolute best to be respectful of that. At the FFOC, we truly believe that we can offer special things to the fantasy football community. Mainstream media opportunities, big cash payouts, and legends like Jerry Rice are just the beginning. With my friends at Fanball/CDM as my only witnesses, I have stressed since day one that the FFOC wants to be accepted by the fantasy football community, and here’s hoping that over time this will take place.

I just read through all 10 pages of posts. Interesting reading! Wanted to share my thoughts.
I have entered a NBC $650 Vegas auction, NFCC $250 online draft and $250 NBC online draft (along with 2 local leagues, $100 & $200 entry). So, I have 5 leagues with a total of $1450 in league entry fees. I wanted to confess to being a smaller player than most who post here.
In January I left a steady job of about 20 years to try the entrepreneurship thing. Hopefully if business goes well, I will get involved at higher levels in the NFCC/NBC leagues next season.
Whenever an owner of one competition makes negative comments about another owner's competition, a lot of hard feelings will often develop. I like reading the thoughts of the guys at FFPC and have tremendous respect for anyone who has the guts and entrepreneurial spirit to create a national fantasy football contest. But, I can see how a supporter of the FFOC would not be happy with some of the comments posted here.
I hate to see too many fantasy leagues flood the market, but that is the American way. The strong will survive in the long run.
On a personal level, I do not see the attraction to the FFOC. I do not like the idea of competing against owners who do not have to draft against me in my league. Some owners could be in leagues with a few bad drafters that give them opportunities to draft a better team. This type of league does have a "lottery" feel to me.
This is obviously a personal preference, but I think I am more likely to want to join an Ultimate, Super League or $1350 auction in the future than a league where the league champions play other league champions for a big first place prize. So much money is allocated for that big prize (partly for marketing purposes)that other high finishers receive a lower % of the prize money.
I definitely am a lot more picky about the scoring system than most people. The main reason I entered NFCC/NBC is because of what I read about Tom and Greg and I preferred the scoring system here. Regarding the FFOC, I like that they are giving a little more emphasis to points against by the D. IMO a D that gives up 35 points should not score the same as a D that gives up under 20 points.

Bill- I hear you on combining Draft league winners into a playoff. Never sits quite right to me. I feel a little dirty giving up control to join in the hunt for the huge grand prizes.
You sticking with individual leagues and not getting tempted is good self control...better than I've got.

LFW - thanks for the help on that one. I didn't connect all of the dots.

As this has unfolded, I'm also fascinated about what appears to be an increasing level on their part to keep people in the dark.
They have posted all the July Bracket leagues. How could they possibly rework the prizes down if guys from those leagues wanted to opt out?

They were not concerns as much as dislikes with the setup and system. I can get past the peripherals if I trust that they are not going to run and hide with my money. I felt comfortable they would not. So I joined.
Would I have played if it ost any more than what it did? Probably not.
Did this purchase take away from any of the sites that I have played on in the past? No. This was a impulse purchase, like standing in line at the store when you grab that pack of gum.
At 125 I can make the impulse decision to join. At 1350 that impulse gets beaten down by the reality of forking over that amount of money.
That is also part of the lure. I think the casual fan is more likely to join a setup like the FFOC is presenting than the hard core, travel - draft - beat chest - mentality here.
It is apples and oranges to me based on the price point.
