I find this post well here you check it out, from the FFOC site itself.
'There have been a couple inquiries regarding the "CDM" teams in the July Bracket. Those teams are abandoned teams that will be re-sold.'
Sounds like AFFL? How is there dead teams? The season didn't even start? I guess Dave was correct, draft's are taking place without full Leagues. Unreal.
As far as the AFFL, I guess the two clowns that are trying to take it over, think they work for the Mob, and can false people into taking a team and signing off on not suing if they do. UNREAL.

Thanks for the update, John. I have also been told that you now must sign-up before posting on the FFOC. Thus, you have to provide a credit card in order to ask questions to the operators like "Is it true that one league featured a team with the first 3 picks of McNabb, Shockey and Martin Prater?" or "How do you plan to effectively prevent add/drop shenanigans when there are thousands of leagues?".
I know a few feathers have been ruffled by this investigation, but there is too much at stake here. If a contest can come along and offer $1 million, only to pull the plug a week before opening day, that's not good news for legitimate game operators and the industry as a whole.

I agree with that statement as it relates to the industry as a whole.
If the FFOC goes off or not there will be several more of them next year and yes, that could pose a threat to live draft operators but how much is really the question.
I think the folks who are the core here are not going to give up their live drafts for almost any amount of money. We will just find a way to play as many of them as possible. You may lose the fringe players to the gimmicks but not your core.

I do not usually join sats on impulse. Wait, never mind, I just joined another one and yes, it was on impulse.

Still awaiting a response about my situation. I am extremely hot over how things have been handled so far. A quick rundown, I purchased 3 teams on Saturday morning with the hopes of being able to draft one that night or the next day. I had the draft for one originally set up for Saturday night but of course that didn't happen. Since it didn't go through I received an email saying that I would be 'Guaranteed' to draft the next afternoon my alternate date and I would receive another email with information about the draft time/confirmation or what not. I never received this email but still logged in at the alternate time and still saw that I hadn't been assigned a league and now no draft time was listed at all, and on top of that, I could not change to a different draft time. So naturally I send an email again to find out what is going on, and then I proceed to watch some preseason games. After watching some preseason I go back to check my email and whats this, an email titled: Your FFOC draft is over.
Fear this roster:
Round 1: Brian Westbrook
Round 2: Willis McGahee
Round 3: Braylon Edwards
Round 4: Thomas Jones
Round 5: Jay Cutler
Round 6: Lee Evans
Round 7: Joey Galloway
Round 8: San Diego Chargers
Round 9: Chris Cooley
Round 10: Josh Brown
Round 11: Baltimore Ravens
Round 12: Tarvaris Jackson
Round 13: Pittsburgh Steelers
Round 14: JaMarcus Russell
Round 15: Reggie Williams
Round 16: Mark Clayton
Round 17: Ronald Curry
Round 18: T.J. Duckett
Round 19: DeShaun Foster
Round 20: Chris Brown
You have to be kidding me. I have been patiently waiting around for 2 days, all my material ready to go, sending respectful, polite messages requesting assistance or some sort of explanation and this is what I get, an autopicked complete pile of garbage for my $350. If i can't get in a different league, redraft, or get refunded I just want you all to know that League 135 might have that much more of an advantage over the rest of the field, and for anyone checking the board considering getting into this mess just know that this could be you. Enjoy.

It was Addai,Shockey,Prater ..Not McNabb. It was the weakest draft so far but Addai was the 1st rounder.
As to their Disclaimer about having an option on an August 25th cancellation date the disclaimer almost looks like they copied NFFCs or NBCs ( with even the same August 25th date included). And WCOFFS is worse it even allows WCOFF to cancel at any time for any reason.
It's not just FFOC with that disclaimer. Many companies have that written in but don't do it. See NFFC,NBC,WCOFF
-----------------------------------
NFFC - "At its sole discretion, Krause Publications also reserves the right to terminate The National Fantasy Football Championship in its entirety if there are an insufficient number of teams by August 25, 2008. In this unlikely event, Krause Publications will refund all entry fees within 48 hours of cancellation notice and/or provide a new application form with the newly stated prize figures. All pre-registered applicants would have the right to a full refund or agree to play for the newly announced prize structure. Krause Publications is not responsible for any loss or liability incurred by any participant or co-managers due to cancellation of The National Fantasy Football Championship, including but not limited to travel or hotel expenses, time taken off from employment, etc. "
NBC- "21. At its sole discretion, Krause Publications and NBC Sports also reserve the right to terminate The NBC Sports Fantasy Football Championship in its entirety if there are an insufficient number of teams by August 25, 2008. In this unlikely event, Krause Publications and NBC Sports will refund all entry fees within 48 hours of cancellation notice and/or provide a new application form with the newly stated prize figures. Krause Publications and NBC Sports are not responsible for any loss or liability incurred by any participant or co-managers due to cancellation of The NBC Sports Fantasy Football Championship, including but not limited to travel or hotel expenses, time taken off from employment, etc."
WCOFF has one where they could cancel at ANY TIME FOR ANY REASON at their sole discretion.
"9. Cancellation of Event: GridIron Fantasy Sports LLC reserves the right to cancel or terminate
the WCOFF at any time prior to completion because of an act of terrorism, or an Act of God, or
any other event or reason at GridIron Fantasy Sports LLC’s sole discretion. If such cancellation
occurs, then GridIron Fantasy Sports LLC will return all entrance fees collected from participants.
Participants may forfeit all or a portion of the event fees if such circumstances arise before the
draft. After the draft, no portion of the event fee is refundable. GridIron Fantasy Sports LLC is
not responsible for any loss or liability incurred by any participant or co-managers due to
cancellation of the WCOFF, including but not limited to travel expenses, hotel expenses, time
