Is it true that anyone who already drafted teams could back out because the prize pool changed?
Is my "weekend warrior" prep better than your prep?

Gekko- Didn't NFFC have to lower the grand prize the year you won? I thought I remember reading that it starting out as 200K. Did people back out when that happened or did they understand that Greg had to at least try to minimize some losses even if he was willing to pay over 100% payback?

If I didn't like the amended prize structure I would pull the plug on my $125 investment but I am ok with it as is so my team is drafted and ready to go.
I would rather they amend the prize structure than shlitzcan the event.
No big deal. This group is no AFFL or whatever they are calling themselves now and the money is secured.
If you folks don't want to join, then don't.

They tried to start with 200K ... but no leagues were formed or drafted ... no money paid in. Everyone had a chance to back out after the change (some did as I remember).
Obviously way different than ... oops ... we have your draft and your money ... here's are payout changes. If they let players back out now after drafts it would even further hurt the integrity of the fairness from league to league. (Free agency will be a breeze in a league where 9 teams drop?)

It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out you say "prizes are based on 20,000 entries. Here are the changes if we have less entries".
Of course ... That isn't as sexy as "HERE ARE THE PRISES ... THEY ARE GUARANTEED"
BTW ... Jerry Rice is the Man ... undisputed BEST receiver of all time. Having him involved makes me more comfortable that they will pay the new prize structure.

UYT- No league will have 9 teams drop out. That's going to a rediculous extreme argument ( this thread has some pretty questionable things already posted). The payouts are currently at over 300% they will almost certainly finish way over 100%. For those who joined already did they only join because they thought it would be 500% ROI? I think not. There might be a few teams withdraw but they'll be spread out and FFOC might even try selling those teams at a discount to fill them before kickoff. They trimmed enough off the prize structure they can lose a few signups...but they kept prize structure high enough that they shouldn't lose too many.

Seriously ... integrity is about doing what you promise ... and not promising something you can't do or won't do (exception is if something unforeseen happens that puts the execution beyond your control). With that said ... I have no idea if they had fine print in their sign up that said prizes were subject to change.
If they did ... I don't have a problem with this.
If they didn't ... problem.
I am not bashing their integrity ... but I am ripping on the fairness of play. IMHO ... their was a huge advantage to drafting a team two months ago. There is a huge advantage to drafting (managing) a team with less than 10 live drafters. But that is my opinion ... and I am entitled to it.
I have all ready said ... I hope this goes off ... I hope people get paid ... and ... I hope the guys who took the gamble on running this are successful long term (if they keep all their promises).
Ugly
