UYT- Their disclaimer said they had until August 25th (beat this deadline by 3 days today) to decide things like this and whether the contest would be a go. Some players had speculated the prizes might even be cut in half. Obviously they decided to keep the main prize in each bracket at 100%. This keeps main draw of winning 1 Million in tact and also pretty much Guarantees well over 100% payback. For most players who are participating I think that's enough. For me I look at it as there are huge possibilities and the expected ROI might still come in close to 200%. No League I know of has ever operated at a $500,000 loss in payouts. These guys are willing to pay their Customers over Half a Million more than they collect...and that doesn't include everything they spent marketing the event to let players know it existed. They've gone above and beyond what could be expected in year 1 imo.

Snake- I'm Responding to this thread which has been very negative towards FFOC and whether it would even take place. KJ Duke took plenty of crap for stating why he felt it was possible for a company to operate at a loss in year 1.
That the contest is now a definate go is very relevant to this thread. Deserved to be posted in this thread.
This is a fantasy talk thread and this is relevant in fantasy industry even if it isn't your cup of tea.

If they changed the prizes ... they have done wrong ... I really don't care why they changed them.

I am glad you are happy and your expectations were met. IMO ... they made a promise that they didn't keep ... that's assuming they changed the prize structure (I am taking your guys word for that).
Ugly

Their August 25th disclaimer is now gone. Maybe because it is no longer needed as they made their decisions today. It was there and was even posted as a reason to be concerned at FFPC message board thread. (maybe even here in Gregs thread or this one..I don't feel like scrolling through all those pages again though).
Agreed on contradiction of that statement of all prizes guaranteed and the previously posted disclaimer. The prizes they set by August 25th are all Guaranteed but previous list was subject to change before August 25th according to disclaimer.

This is a fantasy talk thread and this is relevant in fantasy industry even if it isn't your cup of tea. ...the problem is that it's not about a cup of tea but rather free advertising of a competitor (and a MUCH lesser one at that)...and your timing is horrendous to boot...common sense would dictate this and The Serpent did not wish to go this route but it is seemingly necessary to state it here...now please cease and desist immediately as you are making SNAKE (and many other loyal comrades here as well) violently ill...thanks much and peace and harmony, fellow fighting FF comrade...SNAKE [/QUOTE]-----------------------------------
Sorry Snake..but you aren't the Board monitor.
A company finally offering a 1 million dollar Guaranteed to be paid out prize is worthy of a post. Especially when many here have insisted this would not happen.
It's a discussion...why bash those who try to post Fairly or even slightly positively but not those who have been overly negative?

Snake,
The title of this thread is "FFOC Investigation" and I think it has been a good discussion.
No one is pumping or pimping another challenge, they are merely answering some of the questions raised by the thread author.
If Greg didn't want this on his board he wouldn't have joined the discussion and he would have deleted it 13 pages ago.
GG, what makes you think all of the players are going to be Beta Testers? Your intuition or something a tad more concrete? I think that Fanball can deliver this product as designed and their track record is why I think that. This is not some fly by night back end support that is new to the game. These are industry leaders.

So now that the 1st place prize has been guaranteed at $1 Million (with some lesser prizes reduced) and the money to be placed in escrow (if not already done).........I don't see much of the naysayers......

Reality is that for a buck and a quarter you get a chance at 1 mil, risk reward seemed pretty safe to me hence the reason for giving it a shot. There will be one very happy person and probably because they get to hang with a Hall of Famer...
